This War of Mine

Played, but mostly watched this quite a bit with a friend on mine that loves it, I really enjoy how you create an attachment to the characters and can easily create your own story, but, and this is merely a subjective opinion, never liked that much of the presentation and UI. Trying it now on the Deck lts very tyring to read the tiny text. But in any case, this is one of the most realistic and original survival games out there.

Bought it solely because I used to play it on my mobile device as a kid

After 118 hours, i figured out that if you steal from defenceless idiots characters get into depression, thats why i took me 122 hours to finish the game. If you are not an idiot like me i fully recomend this game.

You're just trying to keep ordinary people alive, and that makes even simple decisions feel much more serious. ◆ The first few playthroughs were genuinely gripping. The atmosphere is great and the game can get surprisingly emotional, especially when your decisions start having consequences for the people you're trying to keep alive. ༺━━━━━━━━━━✦━━━━━━━━━━༻ ✦ [b]Repetition eventually kicks in[/b] ✦ ◆ Unfortunately, after several playthroughs it started feeling pretty repetitive for me. The initial magic wore off, and the soundtrack that I initially liked eventually started drilling into my skull. [i]But that's partly my own fault.[/i] I was determined to get all the achievements and kept playing long after I probably should have stopped. I was grinding the game instead of actually enjoying it. ༺━━━━━━━━━━✦━━━━━━━━━━༻ ✦ [b]Simple, sometimes too simple[/b] ✦ ◆ Some of the mechanics could also use more depth. The characters don't interact with each other nearly enough, and I especially wish there had been more proper dialogue between them. Crafting is very basic, the AI occasionally loses its mind, and the combat takes some getting used to. ༺━━━━━━━━━━✦━━━━━━━━━━༻ ✦ [b]Stories might actually be the best part[/b] ✦ ◆ And then there's [b]This War of Mine: Stories[/b]. The three DLCs add proper stories and specific objectives on top of the survival mechanics, and honestly, [b]I think I enjoyed them even more than the scenarios in the base game.[/b] Having a clear story and characters to care about gives the mechanics much more purpose. ༺═──────────────═༻ ✦ [b]This War of Mine is a great game that works best when you don't treat it like a checklist.[/b] Give it a few playthroughs, make some horrible decisions, feel bad about them, and then put it down before the soundtrack starts haunting you. 整体游戏很好玩，不同角色之间的人文关怀，还有不同情节下做出的选择，会影响剧情发展和人物。我觉得是一款值得入手的游戏。

It's a really cool survival strategy game. But it's too depressive for me now. I will return someday and will enjoy.

Nao esperava muito de This war of mine, mas o jogo me envolveu de uma forma que me peguei jogando horas e horas. Gostei das dinamicas e do clima tenso de sobrevivencia. Gostaria que houvesse mais formas de interaca possivel entre os personagens dentro da casa, mais possibilidades de dialogos para enriquecer e aprofundar os personagens e seu passado. No mais, excelente jogo.
