My first ever experience with this game was in 2013. Around that time I didn't really have the chance to play it, except the first episode that was free to play on phone, so I followed the entire series on YouTube, except for the last season. I decided to never watch any video so I could play the game eventually, so this last game was a shock for me. I never knew exactly what was gonna happen, and that made the experience so much better.
The game made a huge step forward and fixed all the errors from previous games. Like the first one, it lacks a little in things to do, not much exploring to do. In the 2nd game the story felt a little disconnected without knowing exactly where it was going, and throughout the whole game you had grown adults asking Clementine to do everything. And the 3rd game, well...
So putting Clementine with other kids made everything make more sense. The game has way more things to do, and the choices you make actually have an impact on the game, both in the short and long term.
The dialogue and voice acting are really good, and the characters are all very likeable, even the bad ones like Abel. The graphics are great, and the music is really nostalgic and fits the game.
AJ is also a very good character. At first I was afraid it would be one of those annoying kids you are forced to be dragged with for the entirety of the game, but gladly they made AJ a well written character, something I think many games fail at.
However, getting 100% achievements on the game is kind of a hell, since you have to replay certain episodes 3 to 4 times, and there's no skip button, so you'll have to go through 2 hours of dialogue just for one achievement. I think it would be nice if there was a skip button, at least after finishing the first playthrough.
Nonetheless, the game is great, and even better if you played the previous games before. It's nice but also sad to finally say goodbye to these characters.
