In 'The Visitor' you will play as an author named Rachel. Your goal is to complete your book chapter by chapter before the deadline that is coming up. The longer you sit and type, the more you will slip into a schizophrenia state of mind. Complete the chapters and return to a normal average life!

The good part: Excellent graphics other that the "firefly" effect when looking at certain objects/backgrounds. Good, creepy atmosphere. Plot wasn't too bad. Nice old school vibes with the game room and basement. The bad part: Sometimes did not give an objective when G was pressed. When caught, was sent too far back in the game to bother to try again. The typing becomes monotonous after a while. Rating: 5/10

Horrible UI would rather just write a book myself, wa reading the story as i painfully clicked through the chapter to be reading 4th grade level of writing. After finally completing the painful spam clicking to get through the writing was made to rewrite the first chapter all over again. Imediately closed out and uninstalled. do not get this game if you care about NOT getting arthritis. only horror because the experience is horrible

"The Visitor" is yet another badly assembled Unity asset flipped first person horror adventure. What do you do in the game? In this adventure you pretend to be an author (much in the way the "developer" of this trash pretended to be a game developer) but of course every time you get to writing, you have to go do horror jump scare adventure asset flipped stuff, only badly. Kinda like if Stephen King's "The Shining" was a complete train wreck stitched together out of other people's books and he slapped his own name on it. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Most people seemed upset about not doing a typing game, however, I don't think they really advertised it as that so I wouldn't dock points off for that. They just had mentioned completing a book. I think it could have been a fun minigame, but I was fine with button mashing. However, my first death was like 5 min in. I had no idea I was supposed to be listening to sound ques, the game just told me to complete my book. That wasn't that big of deal for me, but it would be nice to know how to play the game. I saw tips during the loading screen after I died, but letting the player know beforehand I think would be beneficial. The game had me paranoid and tense, I did enjoy the little bit I played of it. It got me good with some of the jumpscares that genuinely had me clutching my pearls. I could not finish it, however, I either ran into a bug or I just wasn't good enough. I got the the part where there is knocking and I had to go to the shed after checking the dining room and the guy spawns in. However, I literally could not get to the door and open it before he caught me. I would get to the door in time but then the door would take like 3 seconds to actually open and I would already be dead. I tried to go in through the back door so I could leave, but the door would close behind me and he spawns in that room so I was already dead. After I died, it took me back to the stair scene, so I had to watch that scene a bunch of times and still didn't make it out. This was just my experience. I have seen people complete the game so I know its possible and I enjoyed the time I did play and would recommend the game! I think it could still use a little fine tuning, but it wasn't so bad.

I had high hopes for this game when I started playing it. The intro cutscene got me hooked and I was quite honestly very excited to start this, but soon that feeling of excitement was diminished into one of annoyance. I started writing the first chapter of the book (Which involves endlessly tapping the keyboard / clicking the mouse), and after almost 5 whole minutes of writing, I was suddenly killed by the monster for no apparent reason. The game gave me 0 instruction on what to do in that moment, and upon respawning I had to start the game from the beginning. I can't comment on anything more than that because I barely got to play the game before giving up on it, but from my experience I will not be recommending this game. Do not waste your time.
