About
The untamed wilderness of Alaska is beautiful, cold, and unforgiving. As a high-profile fugitive on the run, this desolate landscape is your only hiding spot, with your dog as your sole companion. But in these woods, the peaceful silence is a lie. The environment is not just your hideaway—it is the hunting ground for something that belongs here more than you do.
"The Pale Mimic" is not an infinite survival game; it is a linear, narrative-driven horror experience with a definitive beginning and end.
Your cabin is your only refuge, but safety is an illusion. On most days the core of your existence is hunting large game just to survive a little longer, with only brief respite at the cabin to plan your next move. On other days, the forest will have unexpected surprises for you.
When outside, the hunt begins.
When food runs low, you must venture into the frozen forests, where your dog is your guide and key to tracking anything. What starts as a simple hunt for game quickly turns into a struggle for survival. You will track, kill, and butcher large game, but this process is far from easy. As you stalk your prey, something is watching. Keep your wits about you, lest the hunter become the hunted.
You must bring the meat back to survive, but the creature is waiting for you to turn your back on the woods. It is fast, strong, and relies on a terrifying form of mimicry to lure you out. As a stalker, it prefers to avoid direct confrontation. It might mimic your dog’s whine to make you open the door, the sound of prey to trick you, or a familiar voice to lure you into a trap. Out here in the middle of nowhere, imitation is the highest form of horror.

Хорошая игра на один вечер.
Good game, good atmosphere.
Fajna gra. jest duży potencjał u tego developera. Fajny klimat, cena przystępna, gra jest zdecydowanie tego warta. Za pewne będę wyczekiwać następnych produkcji tego studia. Czyżbyśmy dostali godnego następcę twórcy ,,do u copy me?"?

nice dog
TBH this is really obviously a new dev trying to make a horror game. Not throwing shade, that's just clearly what it is, and it's fairly obvious from the way some of the assets in the game are literally just that thing. For example a crashed helicopter is just a black helicopter model tilted with a smoke effect coming out the top and a few pieces of metal around. The big problem is that it's extremely scripted. You don't really ever feel like you're in danger of the creature, because half the time when it attacks you its in a cutscene, and the other half it just charges straight at you from the front. The best missions are the ones where it's not there at all, and the ambient sound keeps the tension up. The 'mimic' is that it can emulate sounds, and has human-level intelligence, which is a mechanic that you are told about, and has effects on the story, but really doesn't ever effect gameplay, which is a bit frustrating. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and the dark foggy maps are fine. I liked it fine, and it helps that its short enough that the problems don't become too grating, but the price is maybe a bit too high for what is basically an itch.io level game by a newer developer.
Basically "4chan Innawoods post the videogame" and if your into that sort of thing this game is well worth the few bucks. Solid atmosphere, story is sparse but IMHO that's how a good horror should be. The more the try to explain the less scary it is. Nails the isolation but thanks to goodest boi Rocky you rarely feel alone when you're out looking for your next meal. Gameplay definitely could've been fleshed out so more, more in depth tracking and hunting would've been nice maybe so gathering and chopping firewood, picking berries. Would've also benefited from predatory wildlife, wolves, mountain lions and bears... oh my.... roaming around at random. Solid performing game, no bugs to speak of aside from the one time I got myself temporarily stuck on the environment and that was really my fault trying to run through rock brushy terrain that was clearly not meant to be walked through. Anyway I enjoyed this game and would like to see what the dev can do with more time and experience.
güzel kafa dağıtmalık bir oyun ambiyas da güzel
Minnie很可爱,游戏的玩法与剧情都非常不错
A very enjoyable and atmospheric game. You can really feel the sense of being hunted and the unease, but also the curiosity. I liked it a lot and would gladly play more similar stories in this kind of format.
i would highly recommend this game wished it would have been longer but a great story fantastic graphics and great ending well done to the designers
