This is an unusual 3D platformer/brawler using an oblique perspective. The camera angles are locked this way. The game uses hand drawn art to portray the main character, some kind of whimsical robot hobo farmer collecting keys and brawling against enemies. Now on to the many problems with this game. The graphics are quite bad, hand drawn art. While there are worse hand drawn art games, the art here isn't great and counts against the game. Controls are clunky and badly optimised. 3D performance is badly optimised. The final major nail in the coffin is that the game is incomplete and seems to have been abandoned by the developers in Early Access. However, they're still trying to charge $4.50 for an incomplete game.
Art Direction - Top Notch Design Concept - Pleasing Story - Unfolds Nicely Game Play - Simple and enjoyable Level Design - Lots to explore For a first game release Rabbit Hole Studios is not slacking. The Team is working non stop to make sure the game has charm while bringing in hints of curiosity. The ambient mood allows the player to take time to really appreciate the little details while trying to solve the bigger picture that represents facing our fears. I cant wait to continue to play in The Lost Gardens as the game expands!
TLG is a visually creative game with a focus on exploration and puzzles with a hearty amount of combat sprinkled through. It was really fun playing through the first chapter of this game, and I'm looking forward to seeing the progression as future chapters are released. Keep up the good work!
As far as I can go, the game is not up to a standard I feel it could be. While playing I found quite a few glitches that impact the enjoyment of the game. For now, I will be placing this as a not recommended, but with some updates, maybe it could become a recommended. I love this game, fun puzzles, interesting story
A robot and his trusty trowel embark on a quest to bring nature back to the world, which is somewhat ironic being an inorganic robot and all, but he knows what must be done! https://youtu.be/GXxPDneY15I
Simple Controls, Great Art. HATS. Good Music and an amazing dev team. Unlike most Early Access games you know Rabbit Hole Studios is hard at work making this an even better game because you can watch them do it on twitch almost everyday.
Wonderfully fun game that I have spent hours on with fluid controls, feels like a throwback to the games I played as a child. Would recommend The Lost Gardens to all.
Excellent indie from an amazing team. Super easy recommend! Beautiful art and gorgeous soundtrack. Fun, quirky characters and interesting level design. Exploration and puzzles aplenty. Easy enough to relax with but with enough challenge to keep you interested. All for a super cheap price. The dev team behind this game live stream their ongoing work on this game! Check them out at StudioBurrow Twitch - be sure to give them a follow! Absolute joy to stream and my community loved it! (Especially the 'Burp Song').
