THE LONG DARK is a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster. There are no zombies -- only you, the cold, and all the threats Mother Nature can muster.

No audio on the Linux version, I have pipewire/wireplumber so literally any audio API would work but it didn't try. Switching to the Windows version means downloading all over again, whee! Not an A+ start. TBC

found gun book and hoards of rifle and revolver ammo, yet no firearm.
This survival game has a special place in my heart over the others of its kind. Unlike many, it veers away from the idea of instant gratification or conventional "drops". Many materials must be properly treated or air dried for use, which means your advance often requires methodical planning. It rewards migration from several different areas to others in order to keep a reliable amount of supplies at hand. Although this kind of gameplay might be too "slow" for some, I greatly enjoy it. Mistakes are extremely punishing, and caution is often rewarded over risk-taking. It also gives a eeriely haunting experience to be in a snowy wasteland where you can tell people once lived, trapped in a winter that never ends. tldr; my favorite survival game. Highly recomended. Instilled a deep seated fear of Moose in me.
Ben oynamaktan çok izlemeyi seviyorum ama başarılı bir oyun.

What an incredible game, survival mode is unparalleled and has so much replayability.
A frustrating and cruel experience overall. Why can't you kill an animal with a knife or a hatchet? Why are fishing holes so hard to find? Why can't you pickup a carcass and carry it home? Lots of bullets but where are the guns? Why does a moose always charge you and break a rib? Like its so dumb.
Dragged a travois for an hour and a half while loading and unloading it to cross a ravine to get back to my main base only to die 30 minutes later in my sleep while fully kitted out. Horrible game I love it a lot.
