You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.[/quote] "The Lands of Eldyn" is just another low-effort browser game polluting the "free" section on Steam, and it carries hidden, toxic monetization... this is a glorified webpage, not a real PC game. This is a laughably poor quality cash shop infested browser game, basically a Flash game for all intents and purposes, you do some top down brawling against other players in something trying so hard to be Diablo with microtransactions... it's easy to see why players didn't walk away from this, they ran as fast as they could. This is a purely superficial game-like "experience" designed for a web browser, repackaged to look like a real PC game when it isn't. The graphics and the mechanics are Adobe Flash-tier... imagine the gaudy, cheap plastic casing on the slot machines at the casino. That's what this is, a cheap flashy veneer on a shallow non-game with one purpose... to bleed you dry through mobile-tier microtransactions. Setting the predatory mobile monetization aside, this is a shallow browser game, not a PC game. I didn't pay thousands for a serious gaming rig to use it to browse websites, and you shouldn't either... We're here for real PC games, not mobile apps, not browser games. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. A peak of [b]9 concurrent players[/b] (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the game. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
