Tricky to explain this game, more so to people new to this type of gameplay.
So to start out, it's a fun, realistic experience as a dinosaur.
Meaning you're going to die in the beginning.
A lot
There's very little to teach you how to do and each creature works slightly differently. The diets are something you learn from other players and more complicated mechanics such as priming your dino after you've completed migration zones/diets/and other criteria takes time and energy if you want the perfect, strong dino for a short time
As a more casual player, it's hard to get into.
Many players work in groups (sometimes with others that choose the stronger/more PK dinos, so that they can go around killing others instead of trying to work on what's best for their diet and their own safety - likely for the challenge.
It's at that point the game loses it's realism and it's less fighting over territory and food and more that there's just a bunch of PKers in a group, hoarding a few servers.
Still, if you can get a few friends together, sneak around, take down a deer or another small player and get your dino on: it can be fun
In a recent update they've made movement and sound far better and the map more realistic and more wide spread.
I will say a huge negative to the game that came with the update (2 actually, as of 7/19/26) is that the servers get horrible ping spikes. They're so bad that even with a great gaming computer, it's near impossible to move, let alone hunt anything.
The other issue is they updated the color schemes on the dinos
It made them more realistic, sure
but everyone looks the same now. There's no fun playing with slightly different hues, colors, still somewhat natural skin tones on these fun little prehistoric beasts.
All in all, maybe I'd give it a 6.5/10

Great thing is the graphics and being able to run around and bite things/gather/hide/as one of these cool little creatures.
