The House of E., korku unsurları ve tüyler ürpertici bir atmosfere sahip, hikaye odaklı bir bulmaca oyunudur.
The House Of E. is a free-to-play horror game. Despite the common misconception that free games are often low quality, this game defies expectations. Its gameplay is seamless, the story-line is mysterious and eerie, and the graphics, while not hyper-realistic, effectively convey a lived-in mansion atmosphere. The puzzles vary in difficulty, from easy to moderate. It runs smoothly on the Steam Deck, and I highly recommend giving it a shot, even though I haven't finished it yet. nice
I really liked the atmosphere and the story (mostly). The puzzle solving is done pretty well, it's your standard "explore every nook and cranny for items to progress" deal. It looks decent graphically, and plays well. It's not a game about combat or stealth, it's just about trying to solve the puzzles and experience the story and spooks. I definitely had a couple of things that I did not like. There are jumpscares, and while some of them are not bad, most of them are what I would consider to be "cheap" and cheesy, and didn't serve much purpose to but to pad the spoops a little bit. I thought they were lame. Now, I had said that I mostly liked the story... but boy, did I HATE the endings. The dialogue could have used a lot more polish, the player's character in particular, some of it sounded like an edgy 13 year old wanna-be tough guy. There is an attempt to make him out to be someone with a regretful past, but it just didn't land for me. It all wasn't awful, but I absolutely rolled my eyes a few times. All in all, this is a pretty good game, If you can get past what I complained about, then you will have no problems playing this. If you have an hour or two, you can do far, far worse with your time.
I really liked this game! Only got really stuck once cause i missed something. Its really good especially it being free ! Puzzles were fun and it did get me once with the jump scares!
So to start off. I found out about this game because the developers reached out to me and asked if I could make a video on it and give some feedback. I gladly accepted as the game looked fairly interesting and decently made, and I think it's fair to say I was pleasantly surprised. First off, let's talk about the story. We play as David Adams, who is searching for his sister Emma, who has gone missing while working on a story for a newspaper. David enters the mansion (which is haunted) and the scares and puzzle solving ensue. Now I have to say, I was very surprised with how much story there was. Not only do we get a lot of context when starting the game, but there are also notes and newspapers all over the place to further expand on the story of the mansion and the entity haunting it. Now let's talk about the mechanics and puzzles. Both are very well made. The mechanics are simple and easy to use, (although I kept forgetting that I had to equip items lol) and the puzzles are great because every item you can pick up, and almost everything you can interact with is part of a puzzle. There are also hints in almost every room if you get stuck. There's not really a lot to say about the scares in the game aside from they are well spaced out as you solve puzzles and unlock more of the mansion. Some are subtle, some aren't, and there's a couple jump scares. I think that all the scares were well executed and are a good way to emphasise us going "down the rabbit hole" as it were. Overall I think this game is fantastic, and very well made. Especially for Gamenasticas first game and I would highly recommend giving it a go.
Warning: Asset Flip! "The House of E." is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
I can't tell you how many times and how many games I've plodded through those Unity environments in, but here's another one. A first person puzzle adventure made up of stock Unity assets, sloppy optimisation, and zero appeal to anyone. So, "The House of E." is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "The House of E.", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? I think it's best to skip this download. While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.
PUZZLES, FEEDING TURTLES, AND MULTIPLE ENDINGS. MY KIND OF GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
