The Hellchemist is an intense pve arena shooter where you will fight waves of monsters while random events will alter the way you have to play the game and makes every run unique. The game is heavily inspired by Doom and Quake. Bunny hops, shooting and a whole lot of explosions!

Quick & dirty, low rent and fast paced arena shooter. Dash around the square arena for the amusement of a looming Sun God as you shoot at skeletons, flying skulls, motorcycles, exploding microwave men, little sun gods (moon gods?) and more. Every ten seconds the game slightly changes: A buff to your jumping or firing rate, faster monsters, holes in the floor, a new weapon, etc. Weapons are decided randomly for you ranging from thrown axes or magic wands to sniper rifles. Effects stack and remain so eventually you can practically fly around on double-high-jumps as dash speeds. The goal is to top the devs high score list. It's amusing for what it is and for the price it's at. Exactly what it looks like in the screenshots and good for a few rounds at a time of fast and not so serious shooting.
The Hellchemist is an extremely poorly made 3D rendered "DooM"-like first person wave survival arena shooter where you're in a small arena and have to shoot multiple enemies with your single weapon. It's unimaginative, uninspired, shallow, and of deplorably poor quality. It's unclear why this was published on Steam at all. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. The game contains stock/store assets/libraries/packages, but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. In some cases this breaches the license agreement the developer signed for the use of those assets. Worse, some of the assets (from FreeSounds) are licensed under a NON-COMMERCIAL AGREEMENT, but the developer is violating those licenses FOR PROFIT. This is not just a contractual/license breach, in many jurisdictions this is a breach of criminal law. Claiming credit for the work of others as well as breaching software licenses is highly unethical. While game reviews are about the game, it's important for gamers to know when developers behave unethically because this puts the gamers money at risk. The Hellchemist is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
"Hellchemist" is a fast-paced first-person arena shooter that delivers intense and thrilling gameplay. From the moment you start playing, you're thrown into a arena of non-stop action and adrenaline-fueled battles. 10/10
Review After 100% Achievements The game would be good if the enemies were balanced and did not spawn on top of you on the outside of the arena where it would be intuitively safe. I cannot recommend this game due to quality issues and feeling like the completion of the game comes down to RNG. 4/10 Final Rating.
Fun little Arcade Shooter with a bit of a retro theme, wish you could choose weapons and maybe have a bit of a guide on what weapon does what and maybe on the enemies. Overall enjoyed my limited time in the game! The sun being angry at you if you shoot at it is a funny little mechanic.
Hellchemist, canavar dalgalarıyla savaşacağınız ve rastgele olayların oyunu oynama şeklinizi değiştireceği ve her koşuyu benzersiz hale getireceği yoğun bir pve arena nişancı oyunudur. Oyun, Doom ve Quake'ten büyük ölçüde esinlenmiştir.
I liked it!
