The Cable Center is proud to announce our Virtual Reality Archives Exhibit. The Center started experimenting with virtual reality in late 2013 with the goal of capturing objects to share in exhibits and videos. Four years later, we have elevated our work to a whole new level.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

"The Cable Center - Virtual Archive" is not a game. Games contain interaction and loops, which are absent in this virtual experience. Instead of being a game, "The Cable Center - Virtual Archive" is a software application that presents a museum exhibition, in this case a museum in the USA focused on TV related historical artifacts. A "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a player has when playing a game. Forza has a game loop where you drive a car and test your skill against other drivers. If you are faster than other drivers, you get rewarded with a win, and then you start the next loop. Even sandbox games like Minecraft have a loop where you gather materials to build things, which allows you to progress and find better materials. Those are game loops. This software has no loop or interactive gameplay. It's not a game in any traditional sense. This was launched in the Games section of Steam instead of the Software section. The Software section is more appropriate for virtual museum exhibits. Here is the link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing A non-game museum app being deliberately published as if it's a game is harmful because it reduces visibility for developers who create actual games. It makes it harder for us gamers to find those genuinely made, actually playable games. There are no gameplay loops or meaningful interactions here. It has no merit as a video game, so I cannot recommend it as one. A peak of 7 concurrent viewers for a "free" exhibit (only happened once) is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential gamers on Steam, almost nobody was interested. That level of rejection says everything. We're here for games.
