About
The Bloody Cross is a short, narrative-driven top-down game with horror elements, exploring the weight of sin, guilt, and redemption through a Christian lens. You play as a wanderer climbing a mountain that represents moral achievement—only to be met with temptation, failure, and spiritual struggle at every turn. Along the way, you encounter others like you, including Jesus himself, who offers forgiveness and calls you to follow him… even unto the cross.
This is not a sanitized or child-friendly Christian game. The Bloody Cross is raw, emotional, and unafraid to deal with disturbing and mature themes—addiction, shame, pride, suicide, and the trauma of trying to be good in a broken world. Through powerful allegory and stark imagery, the game pulls players into an intimate and unsettling reflection on the human condition and the costly grace offered at Calvary.
Whether you’re a believer or not, The Bloody Cross offers a bold narrative experience built to challenge, provoke, and stay with you long after the credits roll.

This is a great game! It does a great job of addressing issue we all face as humans while still constantly reminding you that there isn't a sin that can't be forgiven. The artwork in this game is also very good

"The Bloody Cross" is certainly a runner up for one of the worst games on Steam, and with over 130,000 titles on the platform, this is truly a remarkable achievement. This is less of a game and more of an evangelical christian propaganda piece. What do you do in the game? Really badly done 2D top down avoidance and clicking through some godawful evangelical text that makes Jack Chick tracts look like Shakespeare. Just like I'm adamant politics has no place in gaming, this applies so much more to religious propaganda. This is not making religion better. It's making gaming worse. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? This is a hard pass. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.
He is the only way to salvation, only through Him who is sinless can we be free from this hell.

A good game that is well designed. I'm not sure there is a submit to reach just lessons that want to be learned. I found a glitch were if you walk into a wall you can go faster.
Alright, let's talk about this game. First off, it's bugged. second level below the hanging tree the character gets stuck. Second, the grammar is so bad that it takes away from whatever message there is. There are two options in the menu: Full screen which does nothing. then Blood: ON. When you press it a pretentious message comes up saying Christ didn't get the option or something like that. There is no speed up option to get through this painfully slow game, and no, it's not painful in the way Christ suffered because Christ is not mentioned from start point to the bug that halts all progress. This game hurts the mission of trying to lead others to Salvation.
