The Best BJ is a basic Flash/browser tier Blackjack game riddled with pointless innuendo in the hopes mild sexual allusions and double entendre will somehow make a bad product sell. It's a very simple 2D single player (player vs dealer) Blackjack game where you have 100 credits to start with and just gamble until they are gone. Resolution is locked, and the game is of very poor quality, in no small part because it was slapped together with the craptastic game bundle fuel source, GameMaker Studio. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs, which seems to be the case here. There's a ridiculous $6 USD price tag for a GameMaker Studio cash grab here, it was dumped very quickly into lame shovelware bundles. Given you can play Blackjack for free in a web browser it's impossible to recommend anyone pays money for this deficient version.
Online Stalking and Harrassment
The developer has started stalking me, delivering personal attacks and is attempting to publicly cyberbully and intimidate me by posting hitpiece videos and articles. Why? Because I wrote an honest and frank assessment about an objectively bad and failed product. It's an objective failure rejected by gamers, confirmed by SteamDB figures for the failed game, and for the other reasons I supplied in my accurate review. Certainly, the hitpieces the stalker/developer here has linked up are false and misleading (for example, I've given positive reviews to 2D indie games in the past, but the "developer" here chooses to lie about that), but cyberbullies don't care about facts, they just want to intimidate and attack those for providing the truths the developer can't emotionally accept. This unhinged, unstable and harmful behavior from the developer is utterly unacceptable, and is a chilling attempt to silence the truth. Now, you can look at the objective facts of my review, and then have a look at how this reviewer is attacking and intimidating reviewers, and suddenly the overwhelming rejection of these crappy GameMaker Studio ripoffs makes perfect sense. I will not be intimidated or silenced by stalkers and bullies.
I bought this game for the "best BJ" and thats exactly what I received. Its quite hard to find good BJ's on steam, thanks to Zax we now have one. We need more challengers on the leaderboards, so why don't you check it out for yourselves?
UPDATED REVIEW: This game is actually a lot better than I originally gave it credit for. After playing a lot of retro console and micro games recently, including a few blackjack games, it's impressive how full-featured this title is. It's as if Zaxtor took the time to ensure he implemented the rules properly for the game he is attempting to simulate, unlike many shovelware card game times of the past. There are all sorts of unique occurrences too! There's a morality and karma system built-in to this game that plays into the risk/reward element of blackjack. If you love blackjack but also don't want to sleep outside after gambling away the Christmas savings account, The Best BJ is your best option! ORIGINAL FIRST IMPRESSIONS REVIEW: Apparently my BJ skills are terrible, but Zaxtor99 is the master of the BJ. A fast-paced BJ simulator that didn't appear to do anything that would be in direct violation of the expected cards and some additional features were added to ensure that if you end up at $0, you can continue playing to try to dig yourself out of the hole. This isn't anything overly impressive for the average gamer, but for someone seeking a blackjack simulator -- it's highly recommended. It even has an integrated leaderboard and achievements!
For sure a great BlackJack game, all of the opportunities to make some side money comes in clutch when you suffer from DGS like me
Do you want sell guns/drugs to kids poison them and steal their family stuff for money?
Sold my kidneys on Ebay to get out of debt. Lost it all the following hand... 10/10 best Black Jack game out there!
Thank you Zaxtor for the content creator key. The game works like its suppose to and is addicting. The game plays smooth and easy to learn. Great price tag as well!
I've never been more happy to threaten the dealer to give me more money 100/10
Bestest game in da whole wide world . Mr. White review
Bummer! Can't change the rules. Most casinos hit a soft 17. After playing some more & a polite response from the developer, I'll add some constructive criticism. 1. The bet last and bet all buttons are too close together. Have bet all when I didn't mean to several times. 2. How many decks are we playing with? 3. How does Karma work? In general, there is no explanation how the game works. Hope this helps. After playing for some months now....Somehow I keep coming back and playing this game! Perhaps it is the challenge. There are still some improvements in the mechanics of the game that could be made. But thumbs up for an original game.
