Great game if you like throwback JRPGs. Pretty good story (I never have seen the show). Lots of skills and good maps/dungeons and combat. Dialogue is great English (if it was translated?).

RPG Maker strikes again! "The Benza RPG" is one of the many low effort projects made with an easy-to-use construction kit made for children to use, in Kadokawa's own words, "These easy to use tools are simple enough for a child". It's a kitbash of asset flipped RPG Maker stock assets and cringe high school fan fiction. This RPG Maker asset flip differs from most (which are all high school anime club fan-fictions about the developer and his imaginary girlfriend) and instead is based on a failed Japanese Youtube sit-com full of sexual innuendo and nonsensical comedy plots (this one is namely copying the first episode about a toilet seat... being the most popular episode for the series on Youtube with a stunning 665 view count, that's textbook failure given the hundreds of millions of Youtube visitors monthly). Now we've established this laughably bad web series is such a failure, you can get your head around why this RPG Maker crapware spinoff was a complete disaster on Steam. As with all RPG Maker games, this is the result of a really bad game engine being misused. Like all RPG Maker "games", it looks bad in fullscreen and lacks HD support or graphics options. This is not acceptable for modern PC gamers. The argument must be made that construction kit toys like RPG Maker are intended for making small games, toys and demos to pass around with friends, and should never be used as a substitute for professional game development. This is typical RPG Maker shovelware... It uses copy and pasted pixelcrap art, looks bad and plays even worse. This construction kit is designed for children is trash, and products made with it offer no value to PC gamers. This game is fairly dated at 6 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 3 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher quality alternatives on Steam.

Сюжет вращается вокруг Момоты, обычного парня, живущего в Японии и каким-то образом вовлеченного во всевозможные безумные ситуации. Персонажи колоритные и нелепые, диалоги наполнены юмором и абсурдом, а сюжетные повороты временами ошарашивают своей непредсказуемостью. Несмотря на свой скромный бюджет, игра предлагает достаточно контента, чтобы увлечь вас на несколько часов. Здесь есть побочные квесты, мини-игры, и даже коллекционирование различных предметов. Если вы не боитесь треша, любите японскую культуру и готовы к безумным приключениям, то 'The Benza RPG' – это игра, которую стоит попробовать. Она не претендует на звание шедевра, но гарантирует, что вы точно не заскучаете. Возможно даже захотите посмотреть сериал, чтобы понять, что тут вообще происходит.
