The gameplay loop gets a little stale towards the end of the third act, so I did end up rushing it a little but damn, if this isn't one of the best stories I've played in a long time. Unlike other rpgs where you decide how you treat your companions, this dives into themes of identity, regret and guilt in an incredibly effective way by asking how you treat yourself. All of these shared experiences and trauma that are like your own scabs that you can choose to pick, or treat with care and attention. Each Jan is so unique, and I loved every damn one. Come for the base management survival gameplay, but stay for the beer pong nights.

First things first, I really like this game so far! The presentation of the story and the environment feels very atmospheric and interesting from the very beginning, when you don’t really know what to expect. The graphics are top quality. I like how you progress through the story and are introduced to the gameplay mechanics. It doesn’t feel too fast, too slow, or too grindy. Everything is explained well within the context of the story. The “Alter” mechanic is interesting and well integrated into the story. I feel like you can clearly distinguish between the different personalities of the main character that you create. I also like the gameplay mix and different graphical style of planetary survival and base-building. If you like story-focused games and base management, this game is great :)
