Me divirtió mucho administrar recursos y automatizar las minas

The Alters did something I didn’t expect: it pulled me out of a dark place and quietly helped me find myself again. Swapping between versions of my character to solve puzzles forced me to slow down and consider choices I’d been avoiding. That mechanic simple on the surface became a mirror, showing me how different decisions change outcomes and, more importantly, how I could forgive past mistakes and try new approaches. The tone of the game matched my mood in a way that felt honest rather than performative. Its mix of dry humor and unsettling moments let me laugh at my own panic and then sit with the heavier stuff without being overwhelmed. Solving puzzles gave me small, steady wins on days when wins were rare, and those tiny victories added up into real momentum outside the game. What stayed with me most were the scenes that asked who I wanted to be, not who I had been. The characters and their voices made me feel less alone; even the weird, unsettling parts felt like a companion that understood confusion and didn’t rush me through it. If you’re looking for a game that’s clever and thoughtful but also quietly therapeutic, The Alters might surprise you the way it surprised me.
A truly fantastic game. Thought provoking Sci-Fi in the same vein as the movie Moon (2009) with a decent amount of choice and consequence. Visually the game is stunning and I enjoyed the sound design and music. Some of the exploration and base building can feel a little repetitive but it doesn't out stay it's welcome too much. All in all a fantastic and original experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Fun space vibes. Good game.
The Alters is a great game, and under normal circumstances I would absolutely recommend it. I really enjoyed the game before the engine update in July. My PC is older and definitely not high-end, but before the update I was still able to play at 1080p on Ultra settings at around 60 FPS without any major problems. Unfortunately, after the switch to the newer Unreal Engine version, the game became practically unplayable for me. I am now getting around 10 FPS at 1080p even on Low settings. That is an enormous difference, and for me it completely ruins the experience. What makes this especially frustrating is that the game itself is genuinely good. I like the concept, the atmosphere, the gameplay and what 11 bit studios created here. If the game still performed the way it did before, this would easily be a positive review from me. But when reviewing a game, I cannot judge only the story, gameplay or ideas behind it. Performance and technical state are part of the product too. A game that used to run perfectly fine on my PC and now runs at around 10 FPS on the lowest settings is simply not something I can recommend in its current state. So this is not a negative review because I dislike The Alters. Quite the opposite. I think it is a very good game. I just wish I could actually play it again.
