About

As a fourth-year Law student with a part-time job at the Catal Café, you might as well end up going bald from stress. Fortunately, you can keep in touch with your peculiar group of friends and Daniel, your long-distance boyfriend, through your favorite messaging app (😉). They help you see the fun side of your busy life, as well as keep every hair in its place (or not).
Now you've just moved out of home and into your new apartment, and everyone knows that means... party time! Music, alcohol, laughter, kisses... Wait, what?! Kisses?! Your memories are blurry, but somehow you clearly recall the feeling of someone's lips on yours. A warm and pleasant feeling. Hold on!! Pleasant!? 😳
Who did you kiss that night? Will you be able to find out with the help of your girlfriends-turned-detective? How will that kiss affect your relationship with Daniel? And most importantly - how much does a good wig cost 😱?

⏳Why does the game take so much time to load, especially after choosing/changing the language?
👉 On some devices, the Android version of TYL may take a few minutes to load. This happens because the game needs to restart, while also deleting any existing save games in order to prevent it from getting buggy after the language change.
We would love to give you a solution to this problem, but we have yet to find one 😞 We recommend giving the game a bit more time and wait a few more minutes, and in case the problem persists, exit the game and leave it running in the background, then return to it, since doing this has worked for some players.
🤔 Can I choose the main character’s gender/pronouns?
👉 We are sorry, but that’s not possible. TYL’s story revolves around a female protagonist, and her gender/pronouns along with some other information about her (such as, for example, her degree or the members of her family) are set from the beginning. Even so, we hope that this does not keep you from enjoying the game and having a fun time with the Supergroup 😊 Thank you for your understanding.
⏩ I’m a fast reader. Can I increase the speed of the messages?
👉 Yes! 🥳 You can do so by adjusting the "Messages speed" bar on the "Settings" screen. Keep in mind that the messages speed plays a big role in the storytelling (doubting when typing, deleting messages, etc). Speeding up the messages might not let you appreciate those details.
📊 Where can I keep track of my personality stats, and my friendship/romance progress with the characters?
👉 You can do so by accessing the “Stats” screen from the game menu. There, you can:
✔️ Keep track of the changes in your friendship/romance levels with every character ❤️
✔️ See how the choices you’ve made are affecting your personality stats 😎

Mój kumpel, z którym gram w Counter Strike'a, powiedział, że jeśli opublikuję recenzję na Text Your Life i zdobędę 100 lajków i 20 nagród, to kupi mi RTX 4060.
I’m honestly so invested! The characters have been made so well that I am on multiple teams right now and I don’t even know who to ship mc with. It’s such a fun game and romance aside, the friends mc has are just the best!!! I laughed so much at our chats and felt so happy to have friends like these, so I’m looking forward to the next chapters so much. I think I like Nicholas and Marc the best as my favorites, but I also like Daniel and Lucas… honestly, they are all such good options. It would be fun to explore a more “free” chatting option as it is really structured in what message chat to open first but I really love the game so no complaints from me.
i NEED to know what happens next
A good effort at an interactive texting game, with some genuinely cute and funny moments, but there are enough characters that it was hard to tell everyone apart at first, and I'm more interested in the friendly banter than the romance routes. It's like reliving a bit of college all over again, except with a tad more partying and horsing around than I actually participated in lol. -------------------------------------------- Edit after finishing the available content: Would still recommend this at about a 6.5/10 rating, mainly because of the "Girlbosses." The girls' friendship and interactions were endearing and sometimes goofy, they all had their quirks, but they never stopped being fiercely loyal to and supportive of each other and that's a part of female relationships that's not often displayed in media (and, at least, that I haven't encountered much of myself - I've mainly seen more of the toxic and parasitic side). So that part was a refreshing change of pace for me. Even the way they interacted with the guys in the Supergroup chat was hilarious and well written. If this had been the entirety of the game, it would have been a 10/10 from me. I was significantly less interested in the romance routes because I felt they could have been better written, though Lucas seemed alright personality-wise. Nicholas would've been a top contender if the game had given his character a bit more background/context, but he just comes across as an unreasonable douchebag for 99% of the story which was annoying. There was so much potential before his big reveal to make him a more complex character, and having him just drop a single truth bomb at the end (should you choose his route) seems a bit rushed. On another note, there were some moments in the story where the texting mechanic was a bit over-the-top and unnecessary. While I understand the whole game interface revolves around it, some offline VN-style moments would really help in certain situations. For instance, you can't realistically be texting 24/7 while on outings with friends if you value their time and attention at all. Nor can you text the girls about getting close to a guy while... physically getting close to said guy, wtf. And unless we're actually playing Phone Addict Simulator or practicing for an IG "day in my life" reel, sending texts for every little moment of your day, like "getting out of the car now" or "coming to the door" is just absurd. (Shouldn't you be looking where you're going?) Finally, I COULD NOT STAND DANIEL, who was by far the weakest part of the game/story for me. Almost stopped playing because of the stupid, mandatory, useless, toxic, juvenile check-in sessions with this man-child. There was absolutely no chemistry with him or anything resembling a real, lovable relationship. If the game had given me an option to break up with him, I would've done it in the first 5 minutes and spared myself the headache. Some of my favorite issues with this guy include...

Massive insecurity and immaturity - "What if you forget about me since we're long distance? I'm so upset about this in spite of your complete devotion. So I'm going to throw a fit and go silent for X number of days but still expect you to put up with my PMS mood swings and wait for me to grow tf up"
Stalker levels of possessiveness + generous dash of hypocrisy - "I have my BFF spying on you and giving me regular updates so I know you're not doing anything fishy. But let me visit my female friend upstairs without telling you because you don't deserve to know MY business and obviously I'm not cheating on you. I'm just that trustworthy and you're sus"
Cringy, creepy, unrealistic love bombing - Let's just say the word "sunshine" is now ruined in this game because it sounds so off coming from him. And no amount of "I love you"s will ever convince me such a character is capable of any true feeling.
What problems didn't he have? Daniel is basically a crash course on how NOT to behave like a proper boyfriend, friend, or human being. Hopefully this game gets updated soon, but I didn't really like the cliffhanger it ended on. Not excited to see any more Daniel content of any kind. If they introduce a route where I get to kick him to the curb and laugh about it with the girls on day 1, I'll give the story another shot.
Ughh, Comic Sans cemented my positive opinion lol.
As what it says from the title, your life as the protaganist is played through exchanged chats and calls between your friends navigating college life, friendship, and romance. I think it took a while and after finishing 1st chapter I can say I finally get hooked following my character's stories. But from that moment on, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how this group of friends unravel mc's story. As all visual novel games goes, there are characters that stands out to you more than the rest, I really enjoyed all of them but especially emma's, samuel's, marcs' and lucas' chats. i would love to be emma's, olivia's, and nora's friends in reality. But rebeca's cool too xD. I also love that the bgm is not too distracting from reading all their convos! Can't wait for the full release!! <3
love this
