Honestly I don't know why it's mostly negative. Maybe it doesn't live up to the past test drives but from what I can tell, I'm on the wheel and I love it. I think it is the best game that isn't sim racing but it is not arcade either. It feels really good. I really like it. It's probably one of the best games. I actually put it above Forza 6 driving on their wheel. I don't know how it feels on controller.
I get that people may have their preferences but for me this feels great. I wish I would have bought it sooner. Maybe it didn't feel this way sooner but from what I can tell, the past 6 months playing this game, I absolutely love it. I don't know. Other people feel differently but if you have a wheel and you enjoy cruising around and the scenery, I think the graphics look great. I do like the taxi missions. Maybe there could be a little bit more substance there but I really enjoy it.
However the fact that it is always online is terrible. I think that is the worst structure you can possibly do: taking away people's physical digital copies for an always-online save game. The multiplayer is terrible because it region-locks and there's nobody to play with online. You basically never see any other players in the world.
I think the sounds of the cars are really good and everything drives nicely. For what it brings as a racing game, it's good. As for the greed, the corporate greed, the always-online, and the lack in multiplayer, those three things are detrimental to its overall score.
As for someone who doesn't really play online and who just loves cruising around and likes the wheel and how it feels on this game: if you are strictly looking at it like that, this game is a really good game for you. If you don't want to spend money with a corporation that forces you to basically never be able to play offline and always have to be connected to the internet, this game isn't for you.
Honestly that might tank the reviews and I can see why it does, because it really is the worst structure in the entire world and corporations still doing this need to be put out of business. While I say certain things, it is a good game and I left a positive review. I do not like the company. I do not like the fact they put everything always online. I do not like the fact the multiplayer is so ♥♥♥♥. Apart from that I like playing it.
