"TapSonic World Champion VR" is a pointless VR tech demo, a simplistic Guitar Hero ripoff with craptastic audio tracks from last decade, weak and shallow QTE gameplay, little anime girls (to draw in the weebs), and gameplay shallower than your average iPhone game. The "developers" walked away from this 7 years and 5 months ago. This is never getting finished. This unfinished game is just polluting the store and making it harder for people to find real, actually finished games. This isn't good for gamers or for developers who do the right thing. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This game is fairly dated at 8 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Next is pricing and what value this has for gamers. So this is "free", but it's abandoned. Worse, it was never intended to be free. The developer intended to charge for this if it ever left Early Access... but the developer just couldn't be bothered. Making this abandoned pollution that gamers need to filter through when searching for products made by more ethical developers who fulfill their promise to deliver on their Early Access commitment instead of breaking that promise. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? I can't suggest people should download this, there's too many quality issues. Games don't exist in a vacuum... PC gamers have thousands of better options over this.

Great fun Great challenge .. I am a huge fan of rhythm games and jump at the chance to play this one ... Unlock new levels as you pass the last difficulty

Never thought I'd need a headband to play a VR game! Only had this game about a month (on Vive) and I've played this game more than any other VR game and LOVE it! I totally recommend it. IT'S FREE! Totally worth checking out! There are three difficulty levels for each song, with more notes that rearrange differently and can become different style notes as the difficulty levels progress. To add to that, at each difficulty level you can change the speed of each song from x1 up to x4 faster (hence the 80's headband), adding more challenge to the mix. If that wasn't enough, not only are there different types of notes that require you to interact with them differently, there is the added Cymbal notes which require the use of the trigger and aren't tied to controller motion. This adds a surprising depth of difficulty that adds to the challenge. I've got all 21 songs available (including the DLC pack) and use it to exercise with almost daily. Took a while to figure out how to navigate through all the menu options, but I feel the game developers have listened to the early users and has improved the VR interaction and song selection well. The Beta options let you disable some of the background animation if you find it distracting which is a plus (though it resets every time you exit the game). The only real cons I have is: 1. The song navigation menu, which resets the selection to the first song in the list each time you return to the list from a song. 2. If you aren't looking straight ahead when a song first starts, it can put the note area either too low or too high making it uncomfortable to play. This can be fixed by exiting the song and re-entering while looking straight ahead (can't just restart the song). If you aren't playing the game like the guy in the left of the video, you aren't playing the game right. I actually end up dancing to quite a few of the songs as I play. I'm Lovin' it! Devs: Keep up the good work and keep on adding to the song list.
Fantastic rhythm game well worth your time. Sore arms simulator 2018.
Spoko :D
