This is by far the most useful VR app I have ever seen, just import a sketchup data and see them in VR, nothing more to say. Easy and polished UI, some nice tools like camera, actually helped me plan out a movie set with a friend of mine. And even though slow, there are updates here and there improving this. However, there are some unknown bugs occasionally that doesn't load the model at all. First thought it is perhaps too many shapes, but wasn't it. One thing that did work was to save it in an older version, but that did not work every time. Except for these occasional frustrating bugs, this is a great product.

Outdated legacy software that doesn't work with all SketchUp files (mostly depending on whether you use custom tools and functions and overall machine/build out size and amount of individual parts in the assembly). I highly recommend looking for a different solution if you are even slightly serious.

I am so glad Dverse, Inc came out with this app. The practical uses of virtual reality for architectural and engineering purposes is sooo immense. This brings concepts and ideas into a scalable environment. What I really like about what they’ve done here, taking all A&E out of it, is that Symmetry alpha is also just a great way of viewing 3D models. Graphics: 7 Symmetry has a simple art design. What’s good is you’re not getting distracted by the background. The focus is really on the models that you upload to Symmetry. That’s where you will see some amazing stuff. Controls: 7 The controls are basic. That’s what you want. It’s easy to scroll through folders and get .skp files to upload. The teleport works well when traversing around in the models, as some can be quite large (some are models of cities)... Cool, really cool. My only gripe is having the ability to scale the models to any size. Music/Sound: n/a No bells and whistles here. If you are hard pressed about having some background music, you’ll have to do it outside of the app but that’s just easy as changing the sound settings so you have music going to your headphones from another app. I don’t think this was intended to be a solitary experience… real voices are good too :). Comfort: 9. The locomotion for Symmetry a uses teleportation, however if you’re sensitive to heights this may give you that sensation of being high above. You can teleport anywhere on the model meaning some models could be a skyscraper hundreds of feet up in the virtual world. Replay/GameTime: 8 Mmmm depends. Are you the virtual reality user that needs a lot of stimulation or into games? Then this probably won’t be your bag. I wouldn’t rule out the fun factor, though, because there is a ton, and I mean, a ton of content available for FREE to download. The practical uses for engineering alone and the number of models that can be viewed are overwhelming. If you look at the downloads that I listed, it’s a dead giveaway why I am so interested in apps like this. The great benefit of Symmetry alpha is that it satisfies both the practical and the creative sides. Pick Symmetry alpha up and don’t forget to download some models!!! *I do not work for either Dverse or 3DWarehouse. I am just definitely excited to be able to view cad drawings in VR and to have VR at all.

The experience is very good

Very useful tool for architects to use to visualize their designs and to show them to others. Super simple to load in a sketchup model and start exploring it.

I have been waiting for a simplified way to view my Sketchup Models in VR since I have had a DK2. Thank you so much for this, I would have paid money for this in its current state.
