Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations

It may be free, but that doesn't mean it's immune from criticism, as this is an engine to thousands of pounds worth of paid DLC. First issue is the advert splattered all over the main screen. Second issue, every puzzle uses the same shapes in the same places. Most important issue, is the tedium of having to manually lay out all the pieces on the sorting board EVERY puzzle, and moreover, the more pieces, the less room there is to do so. There should be an option to lay them out automatically, then I can sort according to my criteria. Another issue, are the dead areas on the screen that you cannot place pieces while sorting. Next issue, a big jump between 40 and 200 pieces. The old 80 piece option was nice for when you had 10 minutes to spare. Most of the puzzle packs are boringly generic, and photographed with no consideration of whether they will make a entertaining puzzle, but there are a handful that are really fun (illustrations, Monuments, and Cities are fun). If you're going to spend hours looking at a puzzle, the images should be selected with care. There are good things about the games: the way the pieces snap together while you are sorting them, quality of life features like tab to show unplaced pieces, multiple sorting tables (though they shouldn't be needed). For me, the sale price packs at under £2 each is a massive bonus. Ideally I would give this a neutral score, but Steam's silly system makes it binary. A negative feels too strong, but the game has far too many flaws to be positive.
