Reviews
This game was released on a very good foundation, but unfortunately in it's current and near-future states of development, at $35 this is a hard game to recommend.
The Good
The game looks very nice, particularly the trains which are very well-modeled and textured and look near enough like the real thing. Controls-wise they are realistic and have a solid amount of depth, including start-up procedures, real-life announcements, and accurate driving mechanisms. The stations are also a very notable bright spot; each one's unique likeness is modeled true-to-life in almost every facet from mosaics to display screen fonts. Another VERY big plus which I hope is capitalized on by the community, is that the devs have shown extensive support for modding - in fact, there is a team creating the Großprofil part of the Berlin U-Bahn entirely for free.
The Bad
The main problem as many others have pointed out is the performance, with FPS drops being extremely common and severe. Not only this, but in periods of framerate drops, the game skips frames instead of just stuttering, which really messes with inputs and makes it magnitudes harder to drive a train, and even makes braking/stopping near-impossible. I also find that with the current content, the game can get repetitive with how limited the current content is, with two solid routes but only effectively three trains (no, I am not counting the two DT5.2 variations for Hamburg separately). What makes this even worse is that the first route DLC announced is the U4 in Berlin, which is a WHOPPING 2 MILES AND 5 STATIONS LONG. Even Dovetail games, with their mountain of $35+ DLCs for TSW, does way better than that. It really does not give me hope that future DLCs will be a whole lot better.
The Verdict
This game really does have a lot of potential, but unfortunately it has not - and for a while probably will not - be realized. The simulation is great, the game looks great. But there is a whole lot of room for improvement particularly in performance and content that makes it pale in comparison to other offerings in the train simulation market. I hope that enough change happens that I can flip this review to positive, but for now it seems like things are trending in the TSW direction of more DLC, less fixes. For a short-ish experience taking into account the scenarios and maybe a few career runs, it can be fun, but otherwise save your hard earned cash on either another train simulation game like Derail Valley or wait for a good discount.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.63/day in the week to Jul 21 → 0.2/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love this game. It is lacking lots of polish, but the systems underneath are working nicely in my opinion. I can do hours over hours of shifts without issues or crashes. But I don't use mods. Getting a train ready for a shift, move it from depot or siding to the plattform, driving up and down the line is quite relaxing for me, somehow. The scenarios are varied and interesting. At the moment there are issues with the Hamburg U-Bahn, but these will be corrected in Update 10 on August 13th, along with a lot of upgrades. I bought the Gisela, too! Have fun!
Nul ! Depuis une récente mise à jour, plus rien ne fonctionne comme avant.
I really want to like this game. But, game lags and FPS rates drop even in low settings. This game sucks so bad.

Needs some polishing but I'm definetely recommend the product. The hamburg line is an absoulte masterpiece and performs better than the Berlin lines. I admire the efforts to hire people who can actually make enjoyable sound desingns. The modelling is great and so are the textures. I only miss some ground details when travelling near Warschauer Straße. I'm looking forward to see the upcoming update about the performance issues in Berlin, but playing on Linux it performs a lot better:)
Nach dem Update, welches am 13.08. erschienen ist, wurden einige Anpassungen vorgenommen. Das Spiel ist nun endlich wieder ohne random Zwangsbremsungen spielbar. Danke, dass das endlich behoben wurde!
