That was scary, not gonna lie. I didn't have high hopes for a free game but it proved me wrong. I still have some anxiety now just writing this review lol Please dev, make more games!
I changed my review a little, as i do think I was a little harsh on what i said and I apologise, I've had a re-think. I thought this was an interesting experience, and I liked the idea of being a vlogger inside a new home. It did capture a nice atmosphere, and I liked you could see things happening in the background and it did have some really creepy moments and I had fun for what it was! However, my favourite episode was Greyville Stay. Keep up the good work! Here is my video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N90B9Iffcl0
I enjoyed this quite a lot, got me with the jumpscares haha Buen trabajo!
not bad that was good.

This is a short game with more than one ending. The developer seems quite young, too. Please keep creating great games in the future!
Stories to Tell: The Stoneville Incident is a brief but memorable entry into the indie horror scene that proves a compelling concept can leave a lasting impression regardless of its length. Developed and published by zebaxx, the game is part of an anthology inspired by the creator's own unsettling dreams, giving it a personal touch that immediately sets it apart from many low-cost horror releases. Rather than attempting to deliver an expansive narrative, it focuses on creating a concentrated dose of tension and mystery that unfolds over the course of a single evening. The story follows a young man who has recently settled into a new house and decides to document his experiences through vlog-style recordings. At first, the setup feels familiar and even comforting, capturing the mundane excitement of starting over in a new place. However, subtle disturbances gradually begin to emerge, transforming an ordinary situation into a disturbing ordeal. The use of a found-footage format is one of the game's strongest ideas, as it creates the illusion that players are watching recovered recordings rather than participating in a traditional horror game. This framing device helps maintain immersion and gives even simple moments an undercurrent of unease. From a gameplay perspective, The Stoneville Incident keeps things accessible. Players explore environments from a first-person perspective, uncover small details, and react to the increasingly threatening circumstances around them. There are moments of pursuit and tension that break up the slower investigative segments, ensuring the experience maintains momentum throughout its short runtime. Clocking in at roughly fifteen to twenty minutes, the game can easily be completed in a single sitting, making it ideal for players looking for a concise horror experience without a major time commitment. Visually, the title embraces a VHS-inspired presentation that complements its found-footage premise exceptionally well. The grainy image quality, subtle visual distortion, and retro aesthetic contribute significantly to the atmosphere. Instead of bombarding players with constant jump scares, the game opts for a slower approach, allowing dread to build naturally through environmental storytelling and uncertainty. The result is a horror experience that feels more psychological than exploitative, relying on anticipation and discomfort to maintain tension. Of course, the game's limited scope means it cannot explore its ideas as deeply as larger horror titles. Players interested in extensive lore, multiple endings, or complex mechanics may find themselves wishing there was more to uncover. Character development is understandably minimal, and the mystery surrounding Stoneville remains deliberately vague. Still, the focused design works in the game's favor, as it avoids overstaying its welcome and delivers exactly the kind of experience it promises. What makes The Stoneville Incident particularly noteworthy is the ambition behind it. Knowing that the game was created by a young independent developer adds another layer of appreciation for the project. It showcases an understanding of pacing, atmosphere, and presentation that many developers spend years refining. While it may not redefine the horror genre, it succeeds as a compact anthology piece and leaves players curious about what future Stories to Tell installments might offer. Stories to Tell: The Stoneville Incident is a well-executed slice of psychological horror that embraces simplicity and uses it effectively. Its found-footage style, eerie atmosphere, and efficient storytelling make it an enjoyable experience for fans of short-form horror games. Though its brief duration and limited replay value prevent it from reaching greater heights, it remains an impressive effort that demonstrates considerable promise from its creator. Rating: 8/10
