I simply want to use hand tracking from my quest 3 via virtual dektop, need no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam home nor some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ backrground VR is truly awfull still after so many years

This is a very good interface for using VR. Personally, I use the Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, and the headset’s built-in interface is rather rubbish, whereas the Steam interface does exactly what it’s supposed to: it offers good functionality and accessibility, without being intrusive. The only downside is that it would be nice to have more customisation options for this shell, the options available are good, but more granular tuning would also be welcome. It’s clear that SteamVR is being continuously updated and improved. Given that Valve is set to release its own headset soon, we can expect this interface to get even better in the future.
