Great game. You get dropped on the ground and need to find your way to checkpoints using a compass and a map. No GPS dot to tell you where you are. I orienteer in real life and so love this sort of thing, I think a wider audience would enjoy it too. If you enjoy navigating around an open world map (Assassin's Creed/GTA etc) without relying on the GPS then I think you'd like this. It's also good for any orienteer who wants some more maptime and to practice the mental side. I've played 20hrs and it looks like I'm about halfway done. Hopefully there's an option to create random maps or courses at the end, but even if not I'd still highly recommend it. The maps are interesting, with lots of variety in layout and features. It's a geometric alien landscape, so don't expect photo-realistic forest, but trying to match features on the ground with markings on the map feels similar to real orienteering and is the fun bit :) Ignore the story, it's just a basic framework to hold the gameplay. That's fine, not a negative. There isn't much of a tutorial, I recommend spending a few extra turns on the first basic level just to get used to the controls and how things work. There are some different modes: - Get the controls in any order - Get in a specific order (with limited time between controls) - Corridor orienteering (get the controls without using certain parts of the map - important to know exactly where you are at all times) - Radio orienteering (take readings from different places to triangulate the position you need to go When you complete a level it lets you know how you rank against other people who've completed it which is cool. You can redo to try to go faster (it keeps separate records for "Time for first try" and "Best time") FYI For some reason it takes about 5minutes to get to the main menu when I first open the game. It looks frozen but it's not, just taking forever. Go make a coffee or something. Hopefully they fix that
