This is not a game, it's just an interactive art piece. "Starman's VR Experience" lacks any of the mechanics that actually define a game. Lacking those, this is simply an application that showcases a mediocre art exhibit. This at best a broken VR planetarium exhibit... made by huge fans of Elon "nazi salute" Musk and SpaceX (the company Elon paid his way into so he could put his name on other people's work), you can see a red sports car in space. That's all there is to this... looking at a car in space is not the same thing as playing a game.. This kind of store pollution happens when a failed art student gets rejected by all the real galleries will host their work, so they dump it on Steam Direct for a hundred bucks so they can pretend they're real, published artists. I don't believe Steam was intened to be a coping mechanism for art school dropouts. While games are certainly capable of being art, art is where the pinnacle of creativity meets the pinnacle of craftsmanship... and this art school dropout stuff has neither. And importantly for us gamers, this isn't a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. An obvious example of a game loop would be in games like Forza, where you drive a car in a circle. If you're faster and more skillful than the other drivers, you get rewarded for first place, then you find yourself back at the starting line for the next game loop iteration. Even open world/sandbox games like Minecraft feature a core game loop where you search for materials, use them to construct something, which rewards you in terms of increasing your progression and allowing you to repeat the next loop to get more and better materials. Those are game loops. You won't find any of those kinds of loops or any real gamelike feedback here. It is impossible to "play" this because it isn't a game. So this art exhibition app was incorrectly dumped into the "Games" section instead of the "Software" section. We can just guess this is because the artist has no idea what they are doing and just tried to shove their app down gamers' throats without considering the right way to publish (if there is such a thing)... once more a failed artist putting his own ego before the needs of gamers. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing Because the developer didn't bother doing the right thing, we now have a non-game art app in entirely the wrong place. This is harmful to the ecosystem because it robs visibility from legitimate developers who follow the rules and respect the audience and create actual games for gamers. Without a game loop or interactive feedback, this is just store pollution in the wrong category. It's an art demo, not a game, and I won't recommend it to any serious gamer. A peak of 12 concurrent viewers for a "free" art installation is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential gamers here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for just how badly designed this art is.
