I really wanted this to be my next X-Com, or at least Midnight Suns, but it lacks so much what makes these games special. After playing 1-2 hours I just completely lose interest, wwait 2 days, come back and repeat the cycle again. I think I'll stop playing and regret paying all that money. The whole strategical part feels like a nuisance, and I say that as someone who loved Midnight Suns. None of the characters has anything interesting to say, or seems particular interesting as a person. The upgrades you can build are not interesting and do nothing but pushing numbers up a little bit. You'll never get new weapons or armor that change something at all. And the operations are just walls of text you'll never read, because you just select the best ones to spend your intel on and get the rewards. No long term effects, no strategy, just resources. The tactical game offers so much less compared to X-Com. You cannot set up for battles, you alwas start at fix points with your small 4 people crew on one side of the map and the enemies everywhere else. Bo surprises, flanking takes way too long, and all the animations are incredibly slow and it often feels like the engine takes 1-2 seconds break between each animation. Some abilities are interesting, but the UI makes little sense and you never onlock new ones. You can spend your upgrade points on having 2 meters more reach with grenades or running, but nothing new ever comes up. Using the assist system takes forever. The game just feels like doing the same stuff on repeat, even the mission goals are less varied than XCom. It is usually killing everyone, or kill everyone and escape. Very disapponted
finally good star wars game
I wouldn't be so angry about the game, if it were saving my progress in a regular time frame but no. I completed a mission saw the post mission animation and after a crash had to start over the same mission from the beginning. After this I would refund the game if I could, that's how mad I am about the lost time and progress and it wasn't the first time that happened!
可能是我梦寐以求的星球大战故事背景的Xcom,战斗体验非常好。缺点也有,就是技能组合比较单一,主力攻击手的选择其实就那么几个。
The fact I have had my Operatives miss 100% Hit Chance shots has turned me back to alcoholism.
Decent game, very enjoyable story. Just the right length for me personally. There's some issue here with pauses in fights (I remember those from XCom) and enemy types being a bit..meh.... but overall the game is solid, fun and has a decent story. Shame on whoever put the devs on furlough.
Conceptually, this was a dream game to my teenaged self. Leading up to release, I couldn't believe it was actually happening. Upon completion, I am quite happy with it. It's not without its flaws, but they ultimately don't matter to me. If you love the Clone Wars show, play this game. If you love XCOM, you should give this game a shot, and play on Expert difficulty. I anticipate playing through the game again someday, and I'm crossing my fingers for an expansion, or something along those lines. This game is good enough, and has enough staying power as is, to justify more being added to it. It's a shame there are exterior forces at play that are likely to prevent that, but I will hold out hope nonetheless.
Doesn’t hold a candle versus Xcom 2. Pros: Graphics, Music, Animations, customizations Cons: Humor/Dialogue:Voice acting for some of the cast was very bad Introduced the new type of writing I don’t really connect with in Star Wars, clone era was why I got the game and it wasn’t there Gameplay: Most enemies weren’t fun to fight, too much health. Some of the mechanics were just bad without spoilers. A lot of the enemies are also bullet sponges as you level up. Squad size is also limiting to just 4. Meta Progression: Between missions you can upgrade your base, heal units or buy weapons. Most of the base upgrades are just more influence, higher loot chance from weapon market, or getting access to the small r2d2 droids; which is the only cool upgrade. Tried to refund and couldn’t, if you really like Xcom and want something similar don’t buy it, if you never played Xcom then maybe
They killed off my 30 hrs save because I didnt save one of the 6 factory workers on a random mission. I don't want to play again. The writing is poor, characters are cliche, all republic/empire bad, all criminal/resistance good. Made me kill my own soldiers twice. No nuance, depth, human characters. All DnD magic and artifacts.
