♥♥♥♥'s good
I do not leave reviews often but here we go. This game captured everything I love about Xcom style of play and Star Wars story telling. If you are on the fence about getting this game I would give this game a try. The animation is fantastic, the gameplay is very well done, the characters are fantastic and you feel like you cant quite get everything on the first run of the game. I would say this game is in my top 3 games for 2026.
I finished the game and had a lot of fun. I'm not a huge tactics player either and got hooked in and finished the game not long after. I am already thinking about the parties and characters I want to try for the next round. I liked the gameplay and it was fun to see some tie-ins with clone wars and the prequels. I thought there was a good amount of depth to gameplay customization between skill trees, multi-classing, weapon and utility upgrades, base features, etc. without being too much of a time sink. I thought all of that was a good way to take a break after a long battle sequence. I ran into a few bugs throughout the play-through but nothing game breaking. (this is after just one patch) One thing I'd like to see improved is camera control and behavior. I think it would be good to remove most of the camera collision so that it isn't getting caught on and bouncing around vertical map elements like it does. It gets pretty fiddly doing anything around bridges or over-hangs. Doing some environment dissolves when blocking the camera would work better. Greater camera distance limits would be a big help too. I thought this was a great game! I hope to see some follow-up titles.
It's a Clone Wars XCOM side-story but with fairly easy (i.e- no squadmates have died as of so far and near endgame), tedious gameplay (i.e - every enemy buff takes 5+ seconds after each attack). Buy on sale for the story because it's pretty dang good.

Finally beat the game as of 9/14/2026. Honestly loved the game and the story was fantastic. Last few missions we're a little buggy with the enemies freezing or just sliding with no walking animation. The final mission was insanely difficult on Hard difficulty setting but I some how managed to power through & only lose 1 operator. I would definitely recommend this game for people who love Star Wars & Xcom. The only thing I disliked was that I thought there would be more after completing the final mission. I didn't think it would just end there but hopefully they add a new DLC or some how continue the game. Overall rating 8.5/10.
