I was really enjoying the first 15 hours of this game, but the Coil are just so damn tedious to fight. It's not even that they are difficult, it's just tedious and boring. There's so many animations you have to watch and sometimes they are delayed on top of the ridiculous health scaling they get from shared buffs. Really just anti-fun, I've always hated health sponge enemies and its just such a shame that the main enemy type in this game is that. Another bug-a-boo for me is the mission variety, or lack of. There's only really three different mission types and they all play the same. Game had potential but the way it is now I wouldn't recommend. They also need a performance patch sooner than later, on top of everything else.
WHATS FOR SUPPER??? CUTTY UPPERRRRR No but seriously, It's an incredible Star Wars game, it's an insanely fun tactical game and it's the best XCOM3 we'll get. Props to every dev who worked on it and wishing for everyone to (hopefully) come back so they'll be able to get us more of this great game
XCOM and Mass Effect had a baby and named it Anakin (the game is really good)
This is a better XCOM but is well integrated into the star wars universe, lots of cameos and the story does some surprising things
This game is fantastic in all the ways that matter most. The story is a very compelling addition to the Clone Wars timeline. The pace at which story events from the movies and shows are referenced seem a bit sped up considering the game uses a cycle/day system, but wasn't a huge deal to me. There was a surprising amount of surprise character cameos that I was not expecting, even more than what the trailers showed. The character writing is great, I was invested in all the main characters progression and side stories. The upgrade system may not seem that impactful due to most of them being something like +1 to ranged damage, but I found it to be in depth enough to find a build that I liked and found to be very strong by the end of the game. The combat itself is the best of any similar strategy games I have played (have not played XCOM) and was very addicting. The only real complaint I have about the game is the performance and bugs. The camera is genuinely awful sometimes, looking at a random blank wall while something is happening or teleporting across a map and flying back to where its supposed to be. I ran into an issue where an upgrade that said it would take 2 cycles to complete was stuck at 1 cycle remaining for like 3 cycles. The game crashed/froze on me 2 times, but auto saves are frequent so it wasn't that big of a deal. TLDR: The camera and performance issues were small/infrequent enough to not ruin the experience for me, especially with how strong the story, characters, and gameplay are. Most people who enjoy Star Wars or strategy games will enjoy this game, so if you are either of those, I highly recommend.
War Star
I have 80+ hours in this brilliant game. thats it Nuff said.
Great game closest thing I've played to it is Baldur's gate 3 and if you liked that games turned based combat and happen to like star wars you will probably like this game. don't go into this game expecting Baldur's gates story system and game length its just the only thing I've played with turn based combat so I compared the 2 (if you are here reading reviews for it you will most likely enjoy the game) if you don't like star wars smd peak game developers should be proud
Good Game
El juego me ha encantado, solo me ha faltado algo más en el endgame más que empezar una nueva partida.
