Stabby Cats is a lazy 2D retro pixel arena brawler/ripoff of Super Smash Bros, but with far less depth and gameplay, and a 2D retro pixel cat theme, because that's what the gaming industry really needed. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked, and can't be changed or customised to improve the visuals or the control experience. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. It's no surprise the game was a terrible flop. The developers abandoned the game at launch, no updates were made to the Steam depot after it launched. The game was also abandoned quickly by gamers... SteamDB shows the peak player count was just 9, at launch, just once during one day, and it never recovered from that. Current gameplay numbers are around 1-2 players logging on per week, presumably to check out what the free game is and then see how crap it is and uninstall it. While it's noble this has been made free, developers must understand PvP, other players, are not a substitute for content. There's literally thousands of free PvP games on Steam, so if a game is to have any hope of getting market share, it has to actually offer something of value to gamers. The complete failure to garner any interest from gamers here is the inevitable result of a poor quality game being dumped on Steam to pollute the place.

Game looks insanely good but i somehow cant join. It tells me to press A or enter but none of those both buttons work. Deleted it a couple of times and tried every singe button on my keyboard but it just wont work. Please help me
You're game is broken

I sooooooo wanted to love this game....I mean its called STABBY CATS! However, this game has the most antiquated control system and its incredibly difficult to see what your characters are even doing on the screen (for me anyway). All I could see was my cat's head jumping behind the cafe. Also, the game is ungodly loud. I mean even the DEAD could hear this thing go! That's literally how loud it is and there was no settings option for the game so how you configure anything, I haven't the slightest. What I do know: to play as player 1, you use the Arrow buttons and the right side enter/shift buttons. To play as player 2, you use the WASD keys and the left side enter/shift buttons. The third player uses something else that is likely in one of the guides. Good luck playing and I pray you're already Deaf when you do!
