PLEASE NOTE
Spell Casting is free because it was made in 2016 using Construct 2 and I am no longer supporting the game. If it run and you can play it, great, but there is no need to submit any bug reports anymore as I cannot fix it.

"Spell Casting: Meowgically Enhanced Edition" is one of those "I can't believe it's not a webpage" browser/mobile tier "games" that, bewilderingly, doesn't seem to have made it to the mobile app stores where this kind of thing is better suited. It's got a magical cat theme, and of course it's all about putting your finger on your iPhone screen and drawing a little line... but you have to do it right to finish each of the puzzles. Some are like mazes, some are like "draw a continuous line that doesn't cross but touch every point" blah blah blah, you know the kind of thing that you probably did as a "See if the kids brain works properly" test in elementary school. It's designed for the Nintendo Switch, so this is a great opportunity to look at your gaming rig that you probably spent several thousand on, with the power of a tiny god behind tempered glass, and ask yourself, "Is this a Nintendo Switch?" If the answer is "no", you probably passed those elementary school line drawing tests, and also you'll realize that Nintendo Switch games aren't bleeding edge PC games. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $0 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
Den Zauberstab in der Tatze
Spell Casting: Meowgically Enhanced Edition macht vieles richtig.
Before I played Spell Casting: Meowgically Enhanced Edition, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
the game is super funny but i have too much ADHD for this
if I hear "uh oh" one more time.... >:K
Only one correct path. Figure out how the developer solved the puzzles in the same way to solve the puzzle. Time penalty is very unfair on a couple of levels. The game is a neat idea, especially for touch displays (Doesn't work on Steam Deck however). There are a few issues that can turn the game into a frustrating experience. Books 1-3 are great, but books 4 and 5 get significantly harder, not because they are hard to trace, but because of how quickly you need to do them. The faster you try to go the more jagged the lines become, this is because the game is programmed to make dots about every 50 ms as you trace the line and it connects them with straight lines. The faster you attempt to draw the spell, the poorer your image will look because the game is not actually tracing your lines, its connecting a series of dots. Try to go slower so the line is smoother and your time penalty will be harsh. The pumpkin puzzle in the Halloween book is only able to be completed if you have special graphical effect particles turned on, but why? I don't know. After playing this game for 20+ hours I will change my review to positive and recommend the game to others. It is an older game and it may not get updates anymore but its a fun little puzzle game, albiet frustrating at times.
(Originally written with 2.1hrs) This game seems to be made for touch screen usage in mind and not for a mouse. The time penalties are strict and harsh for drawings that'll constantly deny you that 85% accuracy on the complicated drawings. Every two seconds you get a penalty, and getting to 90% draw accuracy range is difficult enough as it is. Avoid for the achievements unless you have a touch screen. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3083568282 I can't get this accurate and go faster on this complicated drawing for example... if I had a touch screen it may be possible but not with a mouse! (Addendum at 4.6hrs) The time penalty strictness makes it borderline impossible to get 5 stars starting on the 3rd book and both holiday books. You also have to be so damn precise with the tracing I'm convinced the dev made this strictly for touchscreens and barely any leeway for mouse users, which are very common for steam games when this was made. If you're going for achievements, AVOID, I cannot stress that enough, AVOID. I'm forever stuck at 22/28 until I can come across a touchscreen for this. I can't be precise and fast with a mouse due to how strict and harsh the time penalty is and how very very precise to even get a chance at 90% range draw accuracy--hell I've had draw results being in 80% when it should be in 70's, there's no logic or consistency.
A line tracing game where you also have to pass tests of 6 patterns you practiced from memory with only a few dots as hints... overall for its price and fact it has achievements (none overly difficult) pretty good.
