For it's retail price tag you know what to expect
Interesting and atmospheric, but a little outdated and very short. There is some nice scenery and good music but gameplay is really bland. If you want to meditate in somewhat dilapidated gloomy world you can try it. Or can`t now.

This game is closer to a walking simulator than a platformer. At times, the purpose of the surreal environments seems to be to keep you visually stimulated while the voice over repeats itself for the fifth time. The gameplay isn't engaging enough to really count as a platformer, the story isn't interesting enough to count as a worthwhile narrative experience, the art-style makes up for the lack of level design as opposed to complementing it.
i really want to like this game, and i can tell the spirit is there, but its so buggy its practically unplayable. the sound is amazingly well done though, and the backgrounds and voice acting were well done.
Very short game with no much game-play, but it does have a superb atmosphere and relaxing music. 6/10
A beautifully constructed, neat little kind of nightmare.
The narrative and atmosphere are great, but the level design is extremely bland and boring, like only a couple steps above Desert Bus. It's also less than two hours long. Skip this one. You won't miss much.
As a platformer Spate falls short. The platforming is basic and the controls are floaty. As a narrative game akin to a visual novel or a walking simulator Spate is pretty good. If I put the bad and the good together I have to recommend this game. My rating 6/10.
I loved the game for its story and platforming.Thank you for making this game.
