Унылое и претенциозное Г.
Пустая трата времени. По прохождению у меня сложилось впечатление, что автор просит денег на похороны своей жены.
This is a platformer-lite, with not great consistency with the fps, but a great narrator and a cool style. My 1.8 hrs was with me messing up a couple of bits. I actually really enjoyed it. It's a simple review but since it's sitting at Mixed, I wanted to say it was worth the playthrough for me!
It pains me a little to leave a negative review for a "game" like this. As it's seemingly meant to convey some profound things about grief and addiction, but to "play" it (and this is an important thing, y'know, for a game) it's really rather boring. You are an alcoholic detective (with a dead daughter - it's not important you remember that, as the game reminds you of this approximately every 30 seconds) sent to investigate the murder of a businessman in a place called Zone-X. Something apparently happened in Zone-x that left it messed up, so when you see giant top hats and buildings floating in the sky you naturally don't question why this is happening. When the detective asks himself "is this real? or has my absynthe addiction screwed up my head?" I thought to myself...well, duh! This is clearly real, and not some all too obvious metaphorical / metaphysical / symbolical kind of thing going on!! There's a reason why games like Inside and Limbo are all narrative free experiences, and open to interpretation - because when you plainly state it like this "game" does it just ends up being stupid. I don't know why they even bothered with a plot, since its utterly meaningless as a dramatic device. You don't invest in it as a conventional story, as it obviously isn't one. And the deeper meaning doesn't really come off because the writing is only mediocre, and the gameplay is too tepid to hold your interest. Long stretches of walking along with nothing happening, just so the game can accommodate a big dump of "thought provoking" waffle coming from a pathetic whinging alcoholic (who, just in case you have the memory of a goldfish and can't recall the last time he mentioned it 30 seconds earlier, has a dead daughter) Long stretches of really straightforward and unskilled platforming just so the game can keep showing off its surrealistic landscape, while the protagonist reminds you for the umpteenth time that he's an alcoholic (with a dead daughter - in case you forgot), and ooh! is that giant flying fish a product of his drink addled mind, or is Zone-x just rilly, rilly weird? As a game this sucks, as a story it sucks, as a morality tale...it's ish. The only things going for it are the graphics which are great, the voice acting which is good, and the melancholy orchestral music. But for a game with such a miniscule completion time (2 hours or less) it's incredible how boring it all is, and to cut a long story short - I don't recommend it in the slightest.

飲んだくれの親父が娘が死んだ理由を探しに行くゲーム。 精神的恐怖要素が多少あるけど、それがすごくいい感じ。 ただ、丸鋸はいらないかな。
It's not about the design or if this game is hard, this game evolves around story and atmosphere. For me it was a nice experience
Good: Visuals, some challenge here and there, the storyline has entertaining elements. Bad: Way too linnear, storyline makes little sense, a lot of running, jumping, sliding, climbing is repetitive only to show you the nice landscapes and poor level design. The platforming aspect was much better in Limbo. If you find it cheap this is barely a thumbs up.
Beautiful level design, no doubt about it. But not really all that much game. A significant portion of it has to be running to the right. Also yeah, we get it guy, your kid is dead and you drink a lot of absinthe (the game constantly reminds you if you ever manage to forget).
I feel really bad talking crap about this game, since it's a passion project that was basically created by only two people (dude named Eric seems to have made the concept, a dude named Temo did all the programming stuff), and it genuinely looked really cool. Unfortunately, it's not a very good game. Also spoilers. This game is really friggin' boring. Yes, the screenshots do look kinda cool, and there are some nice graphics, but literally all you do for over half the game is walk to the right, sometimes jumping from platforms with no skill needed, while the main character goes on and on about his deceased daughter (the game really likes to remind you of this fact) and being an alcoholic. There's some really easy puzzles, sections where you press up over and over to fly a plane thing (again, super easy and extremely boring), and one section where all you do is jump occasionally while sliding down a hill for what feels like 30 minutes. Plot wise, you're a detective hired to go into this zone to find a missing man, there's an evil scientist there that I think infected the zone and killed everyone there somehow for some reason, there's this robot who rambles about lamps, and then you find the scientist's lair after 3 hours of nothing, kill him, and Spate is completed. Yes, I know I skimmed through, but this game is so insanely boring that I completely stopped caring about what happened in the plot. Stuff just kinda happened with no real explanation (or maybe there was, but the gameplay caused me to be really apathetic about it all), and your character talked a lot about his daughter and alcoholism. It just wasn't that memorable, and the monotonous gameplay did not help my opinion of this game at all. So, yeah, this wasn't very good. Like I said, I feel bad about dissing this, since this was clearly something the dev really wanted to create for the world. I just think that if he had a few more people to help him with writing and gameplay, this could've been pretty good; I actually thought the graphics and some of the environments were really nice in my opinion. Hope he can improve if he wants to make more stuff.
Great and relaxing game albeit short. However it tells the tale slowly and it makes you ponder life and the choices that we make that impact us on the long run.
