The art, music, and sound design were all very nicely done, especially for a free game, however wouldn't play it since it's incredibly easy to softlock yourself immediately, and has a few easily fixable bugs, that seem a bit lazy that they exist due to how clean the art/music/mood of the game is. Unfortunately I couldn't make it past the first boss, I used the 3 healing items that one of the basic mobs gave you assuming that I would be able to farm or buy more somewhere along the line, but ended up soft-locking myself. The enemies don't have hp bars so I don't know how close I got to defeating the first boss. If you go back into the initial starting room the intro cut scene plays again because an Erase Event was used, rather than a self switch. (easy fix) Meaning that the cut scene won't continue to loop while you're in the area, but if you leave and re-enter, the event that houses the cut scene will reload and play all over again. And the way to upgrade stats was poorly designed as it only tells you what each stat actually does if you have no points to put into the statues in the first place, so I ended up dumping all of my points into strength, only to then be able to click on the statues and have it tell me what each stat does. Lastly, (although this a nitpick) the defend button (at least as far as I got) doesn't actually do anything because all it does is reduce damage done, so you are essentially giving up a turn, in order to take 0 dmg, or 1 dmg if the enemies crit. Meaning that at best the defend button does nothing, and at worst it just gives the enemy a free point of dmg on you.
Once again you're set out to save the world from a Lovecraftian evil. Up to this date the most polished game Samus has relased on Steam, with the most fleshed-out combat system (still easy and exploitable though). At the same time, it's the least bizarre game in the series. The world you explore is dark and alien, but in the end it's just a town with some ruins around. Gameplay-wise this remake is more enjoyable than it's precedessors, offering colored enemies, quick travel, lots of waypoints and even a skill system. Some of the obstacles you've got to overcome are a bit odd - I mean, why is there a web blocking your way, when there is for some reason a lever right next to it, which triggers it's destruction? It doesn't make sense in world-building, and it doesn't make sense gameplay-wise. Just as an example, there are other, similar kinds of those "puzzles". Recommended twice - it's a nice, short trip, and it's free.

A solid little, free JRPG in an eldritch world.
It was a great game, it was strange and atmospheric. The growth system as a whole system feels unique and rewarding, with leveling up attributes being easy and collecting gear and dragons bringing an exponential boost of power!
