Overall this is a great game that is a lot of fun to play, and it's completely free. In an attempt to become the greatest Daemon Lord in the world, your character (a 30-year-old freeloader still playing video games in his/her mom's house) sets off with their pet/monster soul, Happy. The character changes from human form into Happy's form, which is a cute slime creature. You battle other monsters to gain experience, but you can also gain new monster forms. As you adventure and explore the world, your character advances, your monster forms get stronger, and you gain access to more monster forms. You've got a lot of freedom on how you go about this advancement and you've got options as to which stats you want to develop. One thing to note is that this game doesn't spoon feed you. You've got to get out there and explore and experiment until you figure things out. There are minimal quests to guide you along, and they will get you started, but you still need to explore and discover things for yourself. For me, it's nice not having one fetch quest after another for the sake of having quests. That being said, a lot of your progression in his game is done through fighting over and over. If you want things to be quick and need instant gratification, this might not be the game for you. But if you enjoy the grind and the satisfaction of a hard-earned level up, this is a nice experience. It seems like the majority of negative reviews so far are about the cash shop, which seems silly to me. You can spend money, but it really isn't pay to win. Of course there are some cosmetic upgrades available for purchase, but the premium currency buys you all the same things the farmable in-game gold does. I've spent very little of my in-game gold, so I don't really see a need for any premium currency yet. Having extra healing potions might mean I can be more reckless in my fights/recover more quickly to get more fights in, but it seems more like a luxury than any real advantage. The one exception to this is that if you die, you can use the premium currency to revive where you are with a 5-second invulnerability. If you don't have the premium currency or don't want to spend it, you respawn in a safe spot and lose experience. Losing experience is harsh, but the general idea is just try not to die. While we're talking about the cash shop, I want to point out again that the game itself is completely free to play, and it looks like it's all done by a one person indie company. So I don't have a problem with someone doing all of this work for a free game trying to earn a little bit of money. If you do try this game out, and I suggest you do, you'll start out in an area where an NPC transforms you into a level 100 super monster for the purposes of you learning basic movement, combat, and skill use. Once you get a hang of these basics, I advise you to just walk through the remaining enemies to the end of the area. You're strong enough that they can't really hurt you, but it takes time to cut through all of them. Also, as I found out the hard way, you don't keep any of the gold you get from this area, so don't spend 20 minutes farming this area or you'll feel a bit foolish. tl;dr This game is fun, free, and doesn't really have pay to win aspects. It's got a progression system that is rewarding if you enjoy a nice grind. You do have to explore and use your brain to figure things out as the game isn't going to hold your hand. Try to get your Happy or Darkky to level 5 before deciding on whether or not to pass on this.
If you like real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this type is for you!
