2/10 You have to read the instructions (separate option on the main menu) to even know your objective because the game doesn't explain s***, the physics are not good, and I'm pretty sure there was a mistake in the settings menu because I, at least, did not see Octodad in the game. Also, configuring the game was a pain in the ass which required me restarting the game multiple times because it kept crashing/not loading properly. At one point during the game, I hit the escape button to pull up the menu and it stopped the game but didn't pull up the menu. So, yeah, not only is the game itself lame and poorly explained, but the whole application is also buggy asf. 2/10 instead of a 0 because the art is cute and it was short (and free), but I do not recommend this game.
"Snakedate" is a pointless joke game, badly made, with the premise of being a dating sim for snakes. It doesn't deliver on being funny, or being a decent game. The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off. Note that most of the positive reviews for this game are joke reviews making fun of just how bad the game is, "This game cured my cancer, saved my marriage" etc etc. The positive review score on this pointless joke game should be disregarded.
