"Snails" is a rather cute ripoff of Lemmings only with snails... and a bunch of different mechanics like snail catapults, and of course, being snails, they will stick to walls. Overall a pretty cool idea and I'm not sure why it didn't reach greater success, all things considered. I am surprised this wasn't on mobile app stores where it might have gotten more traction. Regardless, this is a 2015 2D mobile app tier game being reviewed in 2024, and the available options for PC gamers are vast... too vast for me to suggest this is the best product for gamers right now... it's not even close. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $1 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. I think it's a "maybe" game, and unfortunately Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option... I can understand why. A billion game reviews all saying "maybe" wouldn't really send any clear message to gamers about what to buy/download/play. Still, games like this make me wish for that "Maybe" option.

WARNING: UNINSTALLING THE GAME WILL DELETE ALL YOUR PROGRESS not even that, but it turns from a fun puzzle game into a chore. soon you will hit a level that gives you minimal resources and stops you completely from moving on. some solutions for gold medals are so strange you'll wonder "why???" i wanted this to be a "mobile game from 2015 but also hidden gem" but there's several annoying things about it, not to mention the deletion of progress. that is an insult to my time and is an instant thumbs down. sorry, not sorry. if i never want to play again, i certainly don't want to start from square one unless it's my choice don't play Snails
