This expansion is different, but not 'more' than the base game. The war between two factions is much less interesting than the war between the original 4. There are only ever two system being fought in, and never a period for peace so you're effectively stuck in your starting faction. Although new ships have been added, many of the old ones have been removed so there is actually less variation. Except hyperspace engine (which are worthless), all the ship equipment is the same. Carriers are very underwhelming. Effectively, they are battleships that just spam missiles. The same old problems are in the game. Bugs, missing art and janky audio. The poorly designed job tree has new skills, but its still poorly designed. Even at a really low price, this expansion is a downgrade from the base game.
Love it!!!!!!

kind of grindy, but in a very respectable, old-school style.
Great purchase as I got it on sale for only 63p :) Would be nice if it had some achievements!
Its a lot like smuggler's v base game with just a few added features and a new alien race. I would say if you like a casual game, then this is okay.

Um jogo de estratégia divertido, umas cinco horas de jogo dá pra matar tudo que tem pra fazer. Entretanto o jogo apresenta alguns bugs, nada que não dê pra ignorar mas um pouco chatinhos,
I've won this game at Steamgifts website. At the beginning the game sucked me in. It is basic, sure, but skills, better ships, random missions and bonus locations, fights, that was pretty fun. But after few evenings (yes, I'm playing in offline mode) the magic disappeared and I almost fell asleep in front of the monitor. The problem I see here is that game is loosing most fun when you can finally buy that capital ship. By that time you'll probably get all the skills that you wanted, and the goals become limited, you'll find that cash become useless and one is staying with limited choice of multifights during defending or taking out systems or taking the repetitive missions. Since music is basic it started to annoy me as well, fortunately one can turn it off. At short dosage this game could still bring some fun, but basic price tag of 10 Euro is just way too much.
