Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

Sleeping Dogs é frequentemente chamado de 'GTA chinês', mas isso simplifica demais o que o jogo realmente entrega. O mapa não é enorme, mas é denso, colorido e vivo. O jogo peca em explicar sobre as Tríades, pressupõe que você já conheça esse universo... Acabei fazendo pesquisas enquanto jogava pra entender melhor a história. Além disso, a relação do Wei com a gangue do Winston, principalmente no começo, poderia ser melhor trabalhada, porque tudo acontece rápido demais. Na gameplay, senti que duas coisas que incomodaram: a câmera ao dar ré fica presa num ponto fixo por alguns segundos e isso atrapalha, e o excesso do minigame de fechadura giratória (que chato!). Mesmo assim, nada disso apaga o brilho do jogo. O combate corpo a corpo é muito prazeroso, com boa variedade de golpes, os movimentos são fluídos e se conectam. As corridas também são divertidas. Gostei das DLCs, especialmente do Torneio do Zodíaco. Acho uma pena que provavelmente não terá uma continuação, mas vale muito a pena jogar. Recomendo!

I put off playing this since it was on ps3/360, just never got around to it. This game is always on sale for a few bucks and that is more than a steal. Even playing the game over 10yrs later the combat is super fun and did not get tiring. I got nearly 50hrs off of this and actually felt like I was rushing it at times. It is an interesting crime drama with side activities you would expect (nothing special there) but everything is done so well. This made me realize how little I play open world city games anymore so maybe that just made me nostalgic for the style.

The game has a few bugs, such as the character occasionally clipping or jumping unexpectedly, and some suitcases that have already been opened are not properly saved. When I reload the game, they appear unopened again, as if my progress wasn't recorded. Aside from these issues, the game is excellent. The story feels very relatable, especially because it's set in Asia. The visuals and environments are beautifully designed and do a great job of capturing the unique atmosphere and culture of Hong Kong. The story is deeply humane, and the way it resolves in the end is both satisfying and well thought out.
