Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut

Honestly, I don't see the allure. The storylines are not that compelling and running through each iteration leads to the same ending construct. I was thinking completing each story would incrementally alter the ending, but it makes no difference. Each storyline seems to rely more on spectacle than substance, so after playing through a couple runs and being dazzled by the beautiful art style, you're left feeling that nothing is really there. 3/10 would not Slay again.

The writing is shallow, the characters are caricatures, the scenarios are childishly simplistic. Nothing criminal on itself, but since this game has nothing but writing (and images), there is nothing much to recommend. The fact that this game has such overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam is an interesting observation about the modern audiences but does not say much about the quality of the game.

Genuinely a beautiful game. The emotions and the highs and lows the game makes you feel are like no other. Bought the art book and other merch and even that is incredible quality. They have made an insanely high quality product. This game is so special and I can't imagine anything else like it ever coming out if not made by the devs of this game. Don't look at ANYTHING of the game. Play blind. You will not regret it. I feel lucky I get to play this.

This was definitely an experience, after getting all of the achievements, all I can say is that I would recommend this game to anyone without a second thought.

Except, that's not the full story, is it? If you make the wrong choices, everything goes black, and you die. You're on a path in the woods. And at the end of that path, is a bin. And in that cabin is a princess. You're here to slay her. If you don't it will be the end of the world. Did you time travel? Nope. So, what happened? That's for you to find out. So, go play the game, go down all the different branches, and maybe... just maybe... you'll realize THAT THIS GAME IS PEAK :D
