This game is designed in a...confusing way?? The tutorial just gives you many screens of what to do but surely it would help to take me through the systems step by step? And some mechanics on it are also weird, you have to enter an inventory screen to pick up any cargo knocked overboard but why not just be able to click on this? It seems to want to cram a bunch of systems into one and honestly it doesn't work. This game is confusing & I got very bored, very fast.

The UI/UX is just awful
Not sure it's totally polished but give it a try but make sure that you play it when you buy it
Es ist OK
Nice little game. Not very complicated as turn-based / strategy game, and it tends toward grinding, but it manages to keep me busy and interested. Also, the silly slapstick jokes make me smile. If you ever wanted to play as a gorilla bashing pirates with an anchor... The game comes with a good number of "scenarios". Start a scenario, you get a (very) small ship and 2000 gp, and a selection of 3 to 5 pirates to hire in the nearby tavern. First hire is free, and is usually the one you pick as the captain of your crew - at start, anyway, you can change your captain later. Start a new scenario, you start a new game from scratch. The point? Each scenario you complete will permanently unlock some specific game parts - more items, more pirate character types to hire, And these will be now available in each new scenario, giving you more stuff - and better stuff - to play with. This game is mostly (so far, anyway) about exploring and looting small dungeons with your pirate crew. Sea battles are very expensive and dangerous at start (don't try knocking off a Barque with your little dingy and its two tiny canons), and not very rewarding at the end of the scenario. Yet, prepare yourself for them, as a few scenarios end with a sea battle. (edit: ooh, I just learned how to board another ship, and if the size of the boarded ship can hold all my current crew, I can swap ships! Definitively something I want in a pirate game) Trade is straighforward but limited in quantity - it gives you easy cash to upgrade your ship and crew at the start of the scenario. But at some point, you have nothing left to buy. Inventory management is a bit cumbersome. You can only open any treasure chest once, so while it's open, you spend some time swapping stuff between all your characters to get the room to pick all the items. You'll get used to it. The English grammar could use some ironing. Although some weird sentences may actually be stealthy jokes. Oh, you got to wear the hair of a recent president. Makes you a bit more agressive but decreases your intellect. Go figure. Important: while your crew may survive being all knocked off while exploring a dungeon, a defeat at sea is a permadeath, and all you can do is start a new scenario (previously unlocked stuff stays unlocked). Truly, if you are unlucky, your ship will Sink Again.
