I don't fw the gooner character designs but this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rocks

the best game i have ever played
I have two complaints with this game. 1.) The camera perspective can sometimes make gauging enemies difficult, resulting in taking hits unexpectedly that feel unfair. 2.) When you try to pick up an item, the game does not pause, so you need to click through menus really quickly in order to not take hits from nearby enemies. I should not be hit by enemies because I can not read or click through menus fast enough. That's it. Everything else is absolutely excellent. This is a must-play for fans of survival horror and/or cerebral sci-fi. I'm not going to sit here and praise it endlessly because we don't have room for that. If you can get over the shortcomings and minor frustrations I mentioned, this is worth your money. No question.
I'm recommending the game even though I didn't enjoy it as much as everybody else seems to have. The reason I'm recommending it is, I love survival horror games, and the mechanics were actually well implemented. The puzzles are the greatest highlight of the game. It's not that they are difficult, but they are varied and creative. Resident Evil really should take a page from this game's book in this department. What I didn't like, though, are the combat and the story. I understand that this game is a throwback to the PS1 era of survival horror games and the combat is improved in that you can use your mouse to target enemies thanks to the top-down view instead of the atrocious fixed camera angles. Despite the better camera, however, the combat remains clunky and annoying. Why do I have to manually reload my gun when it runs out of ammo? Why do I have to go into the menu to change my weapon? Why can't I put my guns on hotkeys? The combat would have been so much more tolerable and fluid if these were in the game. Why improve the camera and not this? As for the story, the world building was interesting up to a certain point but the game becomes purposely vague for the sake of being vague, which is not to its benefit. I'm really tired of developers trying to emulate Silent Hill 2. I've seen attempts at it, they've all failed. Come up with something more original and simple, and the game will be better for it. However, if you are a Silent Hill 2 fan who loves to overanalyze everything, this game will be a treat for you. Despite the negatives, I can see myself replaying this game in the future. If you really want to scratch that Resident Evil itch, give this game a try. It's just that it's not a flawless masterpiece in my opinion as most of the other reviews might suggest.
