Explore a National Park with up to 3 of your friends! Work together to complete jobs for top magazine brands or just smack your comrades upside the head with a hammer (sickle not included).
shutterbuds contains a bunch of funny and interesting cosmetic options for you to unlock and personalize your character with! Some of them may cost your your hard-earned words, but if you complete enough jobs you're sure to make plenty of money.
Armed with your trusty Rejec brand digital camera, you can take photos of anything you see. You can caption these pictures, display them in game, or save them to your PC.
The park is filled with a variety of unique creatures, all with their own behaviors and personalities!
As you complete more jobs, the magazines you work for will be filled out with your photos. As you improve, new magazine issues are unlocked with more challenging missions. Some say that a picture is worth 1,000 words, but as a rookie, yours are gonna be worth less until you build your rep.

I'm want to like the game, really I do. But the hell is wrong with the camera. just holding it lagged the hell out of me. put it on a tripod it melt your fps. and I played solo. Idk what multiplayer would do to your pc. for now i cant recommend the game at this state. it was really a shame since it could be a fun game for friends to hang out for
"shutterbuds" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Champlain College in Vermont. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a game with an okay premise, you need to run around a forest and take photos of various Pokemon or whatever, great. The quality is lacking, and there's a slew of bugs and issues, and zero optimisation, which makes this unpleasant to play. These problems will never be fixed, the students have moved on. Once more, a student project teases us with something that might have been, but never will be. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. There's the other problem, too... as a student project, this wasn't made for gamers. There's no requirement for them to polish and balance the game properly, all they need is something to show the faculty so they can get their grade and move on. Let's once more ask... why is that good for gamers? It's obviously not delivering a solid product. Yet here it is, on the store page, and here you are, reading my review for a student demo that's going to waste your time. While genuine amateur developers who made real products get ignored because they have to compete with this stuff. In some ways, this deluge of student projects on Steam is harmful to everyone. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's well over 130 million gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. This student project/tech demo/glorified homework assignment provides no Steam profile benefits, no +1 to your game count, and little value to gamers (because it's just a small, unpolished student project), so I can't recommend this over the thousands of full, professionally made games on Steam.
Shutterbuds is a genuinely incredible experience with friends, or solo! The team of DMG poured their heart and soul into this game and it really shows! The art direction: Superb. You can see the emphasis on the round, curved shape language within the creature design to the characters. The environments too, those ROCK(LE) the house!! You can see that the foliage is placed with a purpose, including with the set dressing as well. Lighting is spot on too, and it really goes hand in hand with the VFX. Seeing the expressions rockle makes is such a cute detail! The game design: It really feels like a national park they way your navigating through different trails. It all connects and grounds the player into the landscape with the vibes/tone. The levels in this game are well thought out with the different trails and areas you can willingly explore, it’s truly a marvel. Lots of depth that gives the player the opportunity to examine and enjoy every small detail. The sound is absolutely astonishing. Hearing the music blend as you make your way through different areas of the park is a great cherry on top. The players jump SFX, rockles yell, pinedrakes screech, all of it really ties well together. Game feel: The game for me felt really immersive throughout the times I’ve played (definatly going to pick it up again). The replayability with more people or to speedrun showcases that the team really found the fun while crafting this world. Love how you can save photos to your desktop as well! Plays super smoothly on my end too, can seamlessly walk to different locations and it all generates flawlessly. ShutterPEAK the game guys, yall did amazing. Such a cute experience to play with your close ones too : ) I can’t wait to walk back into the park once more!
For a school project, very fun
so many problems and bugs cant bloody play the damn game
