Shattered Hourglass has a nostalgic vibe for me. I played that back in 2014, it was in the development phase even though the developer claimed the main story is completed, they know it has still many things to be added and had many issues. I'm glad that all of the problems are solved over time, especially famous grammar issues. Didn't experience a single bug, that's rare. Even the encounter rate is simply fixed with a simple item that you can buy acts like a Pokemon repeller, nice! I played a bit over 50 hours on my first playthrough in the free version and because of my curiosity, I got the True Bad Ending+. I don't think I'm going to bother with the other endings because the game is too darn long. It's a long and fun JRPG. Has an absurd amount of content, grumpy main character and colorful characters. if you are into optional stuff you are in threat, the real piece of pie is the optional dungeons, tbh I don't wanna mention that water dungeon. wow. just experience yourself. Overall it's 9.5/10, probably one of the best rpgmaker game out there, well polished and darn challenging. PS. I hate you Zulwhern Another PS. Bad and Neutral playthroughs got another world map to explore unlike the good one
I`ve been playing this game since late 2014.I have played through all paths and grew quite fond of the Karma system! It`s on my top 3 RPG Games of all times! I definitely love Neutral path and the way my choices play out in the end. PS: Zulwhern is a creep and Juliet just predictable, but Duran and Mio are my go to. This was the first game that really made me see my choices being important. Being able to choose my own path and handle consequences, both story wise and mechanically wise, were a gamechanger for me. Graphics: Great for the system. Honestly, I`m stunned on how Sawworm was able to make so much with it. Story: UNBELIEVABLE. The game runs on time travelling and who doesn`t love that? Music: I like it. Gameplay: Buy this and play it. You won`t regret it.
I haven't played for real long yet; gameplay seems fun, graphics and music both good. The combat style (enemies in the whole screen, your characters not displayed) is a real throwback to the NES. The only thing I'd say is "wrong" with it so far is that the dialogue could really stand to be redone by a professional English writer. The story seems pretty compelling so far, but the dialogue is _very_ rough around the edges, and it does take something away from it.
Im still with the game but liked it so far, really complete
Very good game! Engine: Classic RPG Maker VX version,my favorite Music: The battle music for encountering monsters is great and suitable, and the music on the map is also very good Combat: If you are a classic turn based game enthusiast, you will love it. The equipment in the game requires you to choose instead of blindly selecting the strongest attribute. Your teammates are not fixed, it depends on your behavior in the game Plot: As the game name, the game involves time travel and has a unique karma system. Depending on your behavior, there are three types of karma: good, bad, and neutral. As the karma accumulates, the final ending will be determined Map: There are two worlds, one cold and one hot. The maps are both large and there are many places worth exploring I see the sincerity of the maker in this game. If you are an RPGmaker enthusiast like me, please try it and you won't regret it
I wanna quote for this review because i really enjoyed this game. "Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, sh*t on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it." you should definitely give a chance. deuces x
What a wonderful game! It`s always very hard to find a RPG game to my liking among enormous amount of generic, standard and non-interesting boring clones. But this game is not like that. There are many surprises and secret treasures to find (you have to explore everywhere), many quests and some of them are time sensitive and may change the path and the ending via good, neutral and bad karma. For now I`ve played only once and I `m going to replay this game in the future again to find another paths and achievements. There are many-many weapons, armours, accessories with interesting properties and you have a huge amount of choices for your every characters. The maximum level is 40 but you have 3 or more jobs for everyone, every 10 levels you learn a passive skill ( you have to equip it though and you can have only one passive skill at a time). When you choose a new job, characters return to level 1, but there are many items and accessoires to speed up the process. You can find 9 characters in the game (my absolute favorite is Mio) depending on your in-game choices but only 5 characters maximum can be in your party. The game has many additional features as bounty hunting, fishing, the house to improve, the arena and so on. I love this game, it can give many hours of fun and good mood for everyone because it have many levels of difficulty ( and you can change it at any moment), including loot hunting one where exp=o, gold= 50% but item drop=250%. The monsters can drop very interesting items, not only curative potions and so on, but many weapons, armours and accessories. When you think the game is over it surprises you with additional postgame story and adventure continues. I could not mention all features of this wonderful game but it`s interesting and fun to play, and it can be very-very challenging (I was playing on hardcore mode), you have to think about your strategy very carefully. I would really like to see sequel to this game and more similar games from this developer! Thank you for this game!
It was fun at first but quickly got boring with the karma BS and having to traipse back and forth to fix your house or even know what the path up the mountain is for. The hints needed for steps to get the robots away from the door and the guy from blocking the path on the same island were vague and finally just too frustrating to finish the game. If you like frustration in backtracking a dozen or more times unnecessarily, this game is for you. If you're like me and want to progress naturally, don't bother. Calling the boat or ship? They only go to certain parts of the map. Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, the most boring and frustrating part of the whole game is getting poisoned over and over and over and over and over and over infinity. Plus, as you get stronger, all of the monsters do as well no matter what part of the world you're in even if you're backtracking.
This is the worst RPGMaker game I have ever played. Absolute lazy. I hate it. Give me my cents back.
