Shards of the Mirrors is a story-driven puzzle game where the protagonist, trapped in a mirror world by chance, must find the scattered mirror shards around the house to escape. Explore and discover various endings as you solve the puzzles.
Game Story
Shards of the Mirrors begins after the protagonist returns home from their day. Quickly falling asleep, they are awakened by a loud noise. In the storage room, they discover a strange compass, and upon inspecting it, they feel someone behind them. Startled, they drop the compass and are suddenly pulled into the mirror world. What will the protagonist encounter in this mysterious place?
Developer's Note
Shards of the Mirrors was inspired by the concept of non-determinism, learned during a CSE355 class. While the game may not be highly polished, it's my first game, and I plan to fix bugs with frequent updates.
Distribution:
If you stream or share a video, I would appreciate it if you include the game's title or a Steam link in the description. It would be a great help to a solo developer. We are not responsible for any damages caused by unauthorized distribution of game videos.

As this developers first game, I'm not gonna go too harsh. I'll give them credit, the game works and is explained good enough. There could be a better explanation for the spot the difference section, upon completing it, you open a portal and return to a similar room. I left thinking that was the puzzle completed. I was unaware that when you enter the portal you do it a second time. Preventing the player from leaving would fix that issue. The game doesn't look fantastic, the story doesn't really communicate why he came across a magical compass in the first place. The maze section was a bit of a pain, but I also hate mazes. The threat in this game comes in the form of mannequins that are essentially weeping angels. You must shine the light on them to stop them moving. However.... you can outrun them. I've seen worse first games, and the fact I could reach an ending is good, so good luck with the next one.

English translate: I am a streamer. There seems to be a Korean language crash bug. I tried playing in English, but it was difficult for me so I couldn't play until the end. I'm trying to ask other streamers around me to play. If you fix the Korean bug and make the translation smoother, I think many Koreans will enjoy playing it. I hope the game will be a success. Please support the development of the game and thank you for your efforts. I am very bad at English. So I used a translator. sorry. I believe you will understand. This is really bad. Im sorry.
В целом, 'Shards of the Mirror' – это отличная RPG, которая способна увлечь на десятки часов. Рекомендую всем любителям жанра и тем, кто ищет непростое и атмосферное приключение.

"Shards of the Mirror" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is yet another asset flip adventure game, explore a bunch of badly kitbashed Unreal Marketplace game assets. There's a gimmick about being stuck in a mirror world that's totally unengaging... and unengaged, this game was. See below for the player counts, this was a dismal failure. But gamers can smell an asset flip from a mile away. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Shards of the Mirror". The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a hard pass. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.
