wäre es nicht verbuggt ohne ende, sodass man den questfortschritt nicht erfüllen kann, wäre das spiel bestimmt ganz nett für zwischendurch. da das aber gamebreaking bugs sind und man nicht weiterkommt in der mission, absolut nicht empfehlenswert.

Shadows Are Alive is an asymmetrical hide-and-seek–style horror game where one player controls a shadow creature and the others try to complete tasks and stay out of its reach. It’s meant to be a more “friendly” take on the genre — less gore, more spooky fun — with a shifting mechanic that lets you move in and out of shadow form to hunt down the kids exploring the environment. Pros ✔️ A genuinely cute idea -The concept of a softer, more playful asymmetric horror is honestly refreshing. Not every multiplayer scarefest needs buckets of blood, and this leans into the “spooky but charming” angle in a fun way. ✔️ Unique gameplay potential - There’s a real spark here. The shadow shifting mechanic opens the door for some interesting strategies, and the whole setup feels like it could become a more accessible, family-friendly alternative to the usual genre heavy-hitters. ✔️ The “shift” mechanic is fun - The act of swapping between states — shadow to physical form — has personality. Even in its rougher spots, the idea behind it stands out as the most interesting part of the game. Cons ❌ Animations and gameplay feel early — like, very early - Movements are stiff, ticks are noticeable, and everything kind of feels like it needs a good sanding down. For an early access title, that’s not unexpected, but it’s definitely noticeable. ❌ Rough optimization - I’ve played games that look far better and run way smoother. This one chugs when it really shouldn’t, which makes it harder to enjoy the good ideas underneath. ❌ Falls into “already been done” territory - Even though the concept is cute, a lot of the actual gameplay beats feel pulled from other asymmetrical titles. It has personality, but it hasn’t quite found its own identity yet. By the time I wrapped up my session, I mostly found myself thinking about what could be here rather than what I actually played. The idea grabbed me more than the game did. I didn’t feel pulled to queue up another round, but I also wasn’t writing it off — it just didn’t give me a reason to stick around yet. There’s a spark in the concept, and if the devs build on that, great. But in its current state, it didn’t hold me long enough to form any real attachment beyond curiosity.
