This game needs a lot of work. I don't know why it's $14.99, makes it seem like a cash grab so I'm glad we got it for free. I tried this with friends and it's not playable. Mad props to the four devs for creating this game with just the four of them (as long as this game isn't made by AI) but I think it needs a lot more work before making the single player mode their priority. Here are some of our grievances after just an hour of playing: - When I was playing the firefighter I used the 3rd ability and got teleported onto the roof of the mansion. The only way to get back was to just fall off the map. - The door demolisher ability on the firefighter didn't do anything. I tried to demolish doors, as the name and description suggests, and it did nothing. I asked friends about their own character's abilities and they said their abilities didn't do anything either. - The main menu is annoying. The long camera movement to get into the main menu itself is nauseating and unneeded, as are the camera movements to get to the different sections of the menu. - There are so many parts of the tutorial that are unclear. There is no explanation for the heroes' objective and the monster's tutorial does not tell you what buttons to use for the monster's abilities. - Even in-game the heroes' objectives are unclear. It gives you tasks to do but it doesn't tell you why you're doing said tasks. And there would be random objectives found in the house that aren't shown as main tasks. - My friends would get stuck in different interaction windows. One friend was stuck on the circuit breaker screen without a way to get out. My other friend got stuck on the ghost summoning book and we had to quit the game. - The player models glitch out a lot. When trying to put on a mask for the ghost summoning objective (I don't even know if that really was part of the main objective. Everything in this game is so unclear) the player model would collapse and then get back up as if nothing happened. - The player and monster movement feels weird. I don't know how to explain it but the movement feels sluggish and is nauseating. - There is no ai monster. Four of us tried to play the game as all heroes and found that on both game modes there was never a monster chasing after us. It seems that one of the players have to play as the monster. Either add in an ai monster so that the max group of four people can all play as heroes or increase the max party size to 5 and EXPLICITLY explain that someone has to be the monster (Like Dead By Daylight for example) - There are bugs that make the maps load incorrectly. - Glitches that make multiple doors spawn in one doorway, and doors that glitch out and spin around. After seeing the good reviews we expected so much more of this game, which is why I'm leaving this review.
Fun game, interesting mechanics. I love the carnival map SO MUCH! Can't wait to see how the solo game plays.
The game concept is interesting and has potential, but it’s filled with bugs that make it nearly unplayable. Before releasing a game, developers should address basic issues like allowing players to skip the intro properly (I had to click over 40 times) or fixing the issue where your character suddenly becomes immobile with no way to fix it. Entering a room and starting a game would sometimes get stuck in an endless loading screen. These are just a few of the many bugs I encountered. I played the demo and saw bugs then, but I expected them to be fixed in the full release—unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I expected something much better for the price they’re charging, but in my opinion, it’s not worth it. The only positive thing I can say is that my friends and I got a few laughs out of it, but that was just because of how poorly optimized the game was.
Love the art style and overall idea of the game. The devs are super responsive and eager to make the game into something everyone will enjoy. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to have fun with their friends or even just pay casual puzzlers alone.
This is a great game. For a team of 4 devs, it is phenomenal how much this game shines. This game has a very Coraline feel that balances spooky environments, animations, and exploration for young audiences, while at the same time giving adult audiences a competitive, friendly, fun, and enjoyable experience as well. I cannot wait to see this game in upon full release!
This game has some bugs to be fixed for sure. Unless they are features, but I don't think you should be able to open your own cage lol. We had a lot of laughs and fun, so for that I'll leave a positive review, and recommend the at least giving the demo a try! i loved this game. its fun to play.. learn the different jobs of each character. i think the devs did a good job with this game.. i would definitely recommend this game to others.
Awesome visuals and atmosphere. Genuinely spooky and thrilling experience.
This game has been abandoned. Do not pay for this demo.
Don't pay full price for this until some SERIOUS changes are made.
