To be blunt, as this game is right now, it's not worth it. Pros: Cute character creator (picrew-style) Lots of customisation options Cons: Buggy mess AI Horrible POC options in the character creator Story is stale I couldn't find it anywhere on the steam page, but after googling I found out the English translation is mostly AI, which I would be kind of okay overlooking. If the story was actually any good. Plus the fanfic writing aspect is powered by a delusional AI that will ramble, and ramble with no rhyme or reason. Which can lead to basically getting stuck in a loop. I really tried to like this game, it's right up my alley, but it's just not enjoyable. All of the characters personalities can be summed up to "Omg you're soo cool, and we love your fanfics, marry us pls." Which I guess, reflects the games title, but it doesn't make for a very interesting exprience. The game also either overexplains, or doesn't really explain at all. The entire 2 hours I played of this game can be summed up in one word: frustrating. I feel like with the fanfic writing there are so many ways to implement it, without the use of AI. It almost feels like a slap in the face to irl writers. This game needs a lot of work before it's worth buying imo.
Lots of people complain about inappropriate content showing up even with the censorship filter turned on. Well, I got lucky and didn't encounter anything disturbing, despite having full mode on. Yay?
Pros:
+ beautiful art style + great character editor + custom and pre-made content for your characters: badges, ita bags, and other merch + gacha. It's really fun. Honestly, my favorite part of the game.
Cons (get ready):
- it's quite buggy and unpolished. Many things are impossible to read because explanation pop-ups show up right at the edge of the screen, cutting off the text. - horrible translation. You created a game about a fanfic writer, but you couldn't provide a decent translation - basically the core of the game? The grammar is far from the best, too. Reading what the MC writes is physically painful. Dialogues, scene descriptions, and characters' thoughts all look identical in the text - just a wall of sentences without any punctuation marks. Your fanfic will look like this: Hi said X. Hi replied Y. X was happy to see Y. It's so nice to see him after the funeral she thought. How are you? I'm good, and you? Where are the quotation marks? Where is the dialogue and where are the thoughts? Why is the text not edited at all? - the most boring writing in the world. According to the narrative, you are extremely talented. You become a famous author in a matter of days, but your actual fanfics are freaking dull. Even when the game introduces an intriguing concept, the execution is worst-tier. For example, character X becomes a stepmother to character Y (this is a real fic-idea from the game). Do you know what the MC writes about it? X married Y's father because she wanted money or something. They yell at each other, X starts crying, and Y feels bad for being so bxtchy to X. The end. It's so stupid that even Netflix wouldn't greenlight this script. EVEN NETFLIX. Be ashamed. And every single story is like this. NOTHING HAPPENS. But even when something does happen, it's incredibly bland and cheesy. Sure, you can manually edit your fanfics and add/delete plot points, but if I wanted to write a fanfic, I would just open Microsoft Word. I don't need a game for that. I want to enjoy a game without cringing 24/7. The devs should have hired a professional narrative designer for these mini-stories. - they crammed in tons of mechanics, but none of them are implemented well. Unfortunately, that's a common issue with some Chinese devs - adding a massive amount of content that ends up feeling unpolished, buggy, and messy. They added a "pet mode", tamagotchi mechanics, crafting, house-building, dating, events, and so much more, but none of it feels right. - you barely understand what's happening or what you're supposed to do. You have a bunch of stats (writing, creativity, energy, etc.), but it's unclear if they even affect anything because nothing is explained. For instance, I only figured out how to gain inspiration points after 6 hours of gameplay. The game never explained how to get them, even though you strictly need them to pull ideas from your archive. Look, I have about 1k hours in Crusader Kings 3 and tons of hours in other strategy games. It's not like I'm dumb and can't figure out basic math. Yet, I was completely lost during the entire playthrough, figuring out mechanics by trial and error. It felt like playing a 6-hour-long tutorial because I was constantly struggling to understand what was going on. - there is a main story involving the MC and NPCs, but you won't give a dxmn about it. I genuinely tried to get into it, but it was so boring I gave up after 4 hours of reading (and I'm a pretty persistent person). Dialogues between the MC and others feel like a cheesy, cringe-inducing Disney movie with painfully obvious messages like: "DO WHAT YOU WANT, DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE HATERS, YOU GO GIRL!!!". Seriously, that's all they are talking about. "Oh no, some stranger on the internet doesn't like my fanfic, I'm literally going to die."
It actually hurts to think about how bad this game turned out.
The core concept is so fun and unique, but we ended up with this. What a pity.
Has a disclaimer that states CP is present. Apparently this is a mistranslation. I will not be playing further due to other reviews that indicate there is content that DOES involve children anyway. Regardless of if this content is in the game or not, it is clear there meeds to be indication that this game has adult content considering the inclusion of certain themes as mentioned in other people's reviews.
Lots of content and I'm licking the stroy a lot so far. Character creatian can improve for more black/ African Amercian hair styles besides the 1 they have as well as the corlar ajustment for certain items. English tranlation needs some work as well as the content filter. but other than that its and awsome game. Id give it a solid 4.2/5.
ooc!!!!!
Solid concept but extremely poor translation and explanation of game play mechanics. Often times I'm lost or overwhelmed on what to do cause it was barely explained to me. It's also extremely buggy with poorly rendered graphics. I can tell the graphic artists in this game do not know how to properly remove backgrounds from assets. It's a shame cause its such a fun idea and I can tell there's love put into it, but it's obviously not ready for a mainstream western release.
