Customer service is non existent, if you run into issues with lost items don't expect an immediate response or even same day response. Even if you are a paid up Patron. Free to play is great. Hours of fun and exploration for the main storyline. For those that want high end dungeons with gear to match be patient as it is a serious time sink and with the player Population not that high you might be get to experience all of this game's content.
Really interesting and enjoyable experience so far. As much as some aren't too keen, I enjoy the combat. It walks that line of being too shallow but my impression is that the simplicity was intentional and I think it lands at being engaging enough for me to work towards certain skills but not enough that it bogged me down. Obviously, some will hate it if they are looking for a more deep combat system. The story and the atmosphere is what it's all about here. Never have I ever felt the desire to clear full regions in an MMO before but the designers were really restrained in giving you a lot of voice acted, unique content to work through but not so much that it all melts into a grey blob of pointless filler. Even a basic fetch quest will have an interesting premise that builds on the atmosphere and lore...mostly. I will say that the dialogue will often spiral into meaningless rants of pretentious word salads...I think it's mostly tongue in cheek and they can be entertaining. It grew on me as the game went on when I got what they were going for with the vibe. It's worth a go. It won't take hours of game time to grasp what this game offers. None of that 'it gets good after 100 hours!' If after doing your first quest or two you aren't enjoying it, you likely won't start to. So give it a go, it might just pull you in.
(+) Even after many years and the switch from the original one (TSW) to SW Legends, it holds up nicely if you ignore the dated stuff. I was surprised to see a small community of people still playing it. Investigation quests are fun (don't cheat now :I let your IQ grow) and the weapon system is flexible. (-) Sadly it seems no new updates or areas, patches, xpacs will be released so there's that... (+) buuuut hey... the game is still alive so if you're looking for nice dialogue, lore, story and you're a fan of Cthulhu and such... maybe give it a go. Fair graphics and environments. It also runs on my potato PC so it will run on whatever you have... Pro tip: Make sure on the game launcher settings you select "full client" or prepare for a world of pain, bugs and lag spikes.
there is no people this game is dead that is all i want to say
The voice acting and story plot are wild. Gameplay is somewhat outdated but is overall pretty good.
Playing older games like this, is amazing for reminding one self that, yes, game developers have always been ♥♥♥♥ at their jobs. Just in case folks are worried the Game Industry has gone to crap ... play older games like this and be reminded it has always sucked. From basic mechanics like guns having "energy" as well as "ammo" for inconvenience.. to what feels like intermittently days long input latency. Tie this to strict level controlled story progression and all the tedium of "old school" game design ... eh I still recomend it, the experience should be inflicted on everyone. On the upside, playing this will probably make other games look so much better :P:P
Time for this game to retired for real. Love it back the day but not any more. No instruction and no direction.
Love the setting of this game, played the original and miss some elements of that but this is good enough to get the hit. Also have the RPG so can play that when I need some of the dopamine of the original vibes
hell yeah
Best lovecraftian multiplayer game ever made. One of the best Urban Fantasy games ever made. One of the best stories in an MMO, perhaps only beaten by SWTOR Overall a wonderful game, it is too bad that we're not getting more of it.
