It takes a little time to get the hang of but fun game.
great modern naval sim needs more navies
This is the best Naval warfare game I have ever played. It certainly has its quirks, and there's some things that could be better, but for what you get it's absolutely worth it. They really could have stopped adding features and content a while ago and it'd still be great, but they've continued to polish the solid foundation while also adding new content and systems that shore up the rough edges and make this a really great experience. The new Pacific Campaign is very engaging, where you get to pick your task force and the state of your units (damage, supplies, ammo) is carried between missions, with side missions that affect future missions. Just an absolute dream come true and I'm sure there's more to come. Also check out the modding community. There's some wacky ♥♥♥♥ you can download and play with.
Realistic naval simulator that fills the itch of a small niche market, worth it if your into fleet command and strategic games.
good game
Entertaining and customizable. Like living out a Tom Clancy novel. Always looking forward to more content from both the developers and the community.
As much as I'd like to advocate for this game, because it's really nice and all, but what ruins it is the AI, performance and micromanagement. I have 100+ hours on this game and believe that I can leave this review. For example, I was on the 4th mission in the USSR Campaign - right off the bat I was running sub 20 frames, dropping to single digits in most cases. I had to downgrade to DX11 just to get over 20 frames. The framerate drop made it unplayable, causing me to lose 2 aircrafts due to the inability to manage them properly. Speaking of managing aircrafts, the AI is absolute DOG****! My main vessel, Petro...something, received sufficient damage from 1 AGM-84 due to my planes not launching missiles despite being in range. Not only that but the fact that planes immediately go full throttle and bleed through fuel the moment you tell it to engage a target caused me to go bingo fuel mid fight (mind you, this aircraft still had full load). This lead to a chain of events where attack aircrafts managed to slip through and launch the AGMs. Adding onto that, the moment your aircraft is bingo fuel, you can no longer control it. This left 2 of my planes a sitting duck, only being able to "spam" countermeasures while flying straight, causing one of them to die to a missile. The second was easily approached by an F4E, allowing it to get a gun solution and dying. There are so many issues with this game. The fact its been 2 years and it's still having issues really pisses me off. If you really want to get this game, wait for a sale. Otherwise, I do not recommend it with the $50 price tag, absolutely not worth it for a stressful and annoying experience.
Excellent game, and a early access that delivers more and more! Well done devs!
Set "Air Defense State" to "Weapons Free" with incoming aircraft and your ships will start shooting Harpoons at enemy ships instead of engaging incoming enemy aircraft.........."Air Defense State"........not weapons free.....
My Grandpa worked various roles in the Navy and marine corp from Korea to 9-11 and this reminds me of listening to him studying the various soviet systems as a child of the 80s and 90s. The cold war was very real in my house growing up near DC and this game is great for those who love naval battles in this age. Really well done for an Early Access game and it is well worth it too me in its current state.
